Trailing 13 - 3 at half time ... who would have thought?  Well, you did foresee trouble ahead!

I reckon you'll recover and win but that's an average start to say the least

With just the Steelers @ Bengals game to play out,  here is the live scoreboard in the tipping comp

13 - Clintosaurus*,  titan_uranus

10 - Go the Biff*

9 - Gorgoroth*,  Macca*

8 - JV7,  Dee Zephyr

6 - layzie*,  DemonDave,  DeeSpencer

1 - Others

* Denotes those participating needing a Steelers win to gain 2 points

Bloke at work all week was saying he was dropping a massive amount on us at $1.05, I finally convinced him not too, reckon he wasn’t happy with me today. He was thinking near around a 1k bet.

I knew we would screw it up, it’s the most obvious thing to do and just once again proves that Goff is a massive down hill skier and McVay is close behind.

We Dont lose when in front at half time and never win when down with a few mins to go.

Probably the upset of the season Gorg

You'll still make the playoffs but on the road throughout now?

And thanks to your thoughts on the Rams game.  I excluded that game in my 8 pick multi ... and I got it up for a very nice Christmas bonus.  Close on 4 figures for a small outlay

Dee Zephyr's Bears pick upped the anti and I fancied Dallas at home.  The rest won as they were supposed to do.  All 5.00am starts too

Happy days but KC are the team to beat from an overall perspective.  Well coached,  a superior QB and just very competitive team-wise

Not totally convinced with the Packers but none of the NFC teams are great.  Home field won't mean much without a crowd ... which brings the road teams into it

Just got to get hot for 4 playoff weeks and the title is up for grabs!

Agree on NFC, Packers and saints are best and can win it, but both aren’t in great form at the minute.
Chiefs are still the team and TBH the titans with Henry are dangerous.

Glad I could help out the multi ?

I was gutted yesterday when Mayfield threw over a wide open Njoku to a tightly covered Landry in the end zone. Njoku scoring was my only miss...

Bengals spank Steelers.
Big Ben and his offence once again were kept in it by their D, colts and browns next two weeks and the Steelers could lose them both.

Siad they were the worst 11-0 team I’ve seen and I stand by it.

Browns can easily take the division - if they beat the Jets and the Steelers lose this week vs the Colts, that final Week 17 game will be for the division.

Wonder if a club's ever started 11-0 and failed to win the division.

No idea on that, I know the 69 Rams lost 3 after being 11-0 (14gane season) and lost their playoff, 2009 saints lost 3 in a row after being 11-0 and then won the SB.

@layzie  @Gorgoroth  @DemonDave  @JV7    @titan_uranus  @DeeSpencer  @Clintosaurus  @Dee Zephyr  @Go the Biff

We've entered the Flemington Straight and we now have joint leaders!  t_u has joined Clint in the lead after securing a vital 2 points in week 15.  And we play for 2 points again this week before playing for 3 big points in week 17

Looks a race in 2 but in the world of tipping, anything is possible.  As stated here last week,  most of us still in the running will need to be quite creative with our tips.  Podium positions are still available for those out of the race

And 7 participants can still win it all (either outright or as a joint winner)

It's all to play for so good luck!

Some standout road winners loom large (on the surface of it) but beware of the trap game!

An interesting set of games coming up

Ok, so here is what I don’t get with McVay.
Ive said before that I think he is going down the path of trying so hard to be cutting edge he misses the fundamentals to the game and the old saying, you need to beat us at what we are doing before we switch to plan B.

Mcvay starts games on plan F I’m sure. Previous two wins we have predominantly gone with 2WR 2TE set and ran the ball well after struggling to really establish the run fully and then struggling on the passing game.
jets game. McVay uses 3WR 26/30 in first 30 for 94yrds and 0-7 on third down.

WHY THE [censored] CHANGE???

Now Akers is out for the season. Rams are nigh on done and dusted.

You'll beat Seattle Gorg chill out ?

We lose our best RB and they get all of theirs back. Ramsey has to lock Metcalf out of the game again and AD will need to be at his disruptive best.

Goff is a hot cold player, if he is cold we are stuffed, if they let him get hot early and he doesn’t have to chase the game that help and same applies to McVay.

Tbh I’m more confident about this game than the Jets but it’s a 50/50 game at best.

Bucs, Browns, Bills.

Can't win, may as well look respectable.

And Merry Xmas to all :)

Kamara is killing it. 4 td’s with 5mins in the 3rd, prob should have had a receiving TD as well.

Only just tuned in to the end Gorg. Assuming Brees had a better run than early this week?

I feel like Sean and Kyle are really similar in this way. They both seem to want to change the game rather than go with what works well a lot of the time. And are real stubborn in the process as well.

I don't know if Sean does this but lately Kyle seems to waste time designing plays for some of our crappest receivers.

Brees did well, threw some early to not take the hit, one leading to a INT and another that should have, he ain’t 100% but worlds better than last week, especially missing 2 of his best WR.

I sort of don’t mind that a bit as woods and Kupp are similar WR. VJ and Reynolds are different so you can try and get them in a fav match up. TBH, we need to use our TE’s more, when we are both Kupp and Woods benefit as does our run game.

But yeah, McVay def wants to be the innovator. To do so he needs a dual threat QB, Goff doesn’t run often (more this year than previous, but not great speed ) and needs a clean pocket to be deadly.

But for me, look at Andy Reid, calls good solid plays most of the game and sometime Mahomes just does what he does, but it’s mostly a solid offence than works on fundamental plays.

According to this article, it's never happened before - all 11 teams to go 11-0 prior to this year's Steelers won their division.

Browns, Bills, Bears

  • PREVIEW: Brisbane

And just like that, we’re Narrm again. Even though the annual AFL Sir Doug Nicholls Round which commemorates the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture to our game has been a welcome addition to our calendar for ten years, more lately it has been a portent of tough times ahead for we beleaguered Narrm supporters. Ever since the club broke through for its historic 2021 premiership, this has become a troubling time of the year for the club. For example, it all began when Melbourne rebranded itself as Narrm across the two rounds of the Sir Doug Nicholls Round to become the first club to adopt an Indigenous club name especially for the occasion. It won its first outing under the brand against lowly North Melbourne to go to 10 wins and no losses but not without a struggle or a major injury to  star winger Ed Langdon who broke his ribs and missed several weeks. In the following week, still as Narrm, the team’s 17 game winning streak came to an end at the hands of the Dockers. That came along with more injuries, a plague that remained with them for the remainder of the season until, beset by injuries, the Dees were eliminated from the finals in straight sets. It was even worse last year, when Narrm inexplicably lowered its colours in Perth to the Waalit Marawar Eagles. Oh, the shame of it all! At least this year, if there is a corner to turn around, it has to be in the direction of something better. To that end, I produced a special pre-game chant in the local Narrm language - “nam mi:wi winnamun katjil prolin ambi ngamar thamelin amb” which roughly translated is “every heart beats true for the red and the blue.” >y belief is that if all of the Narrm faithful recite it long enough, then it might prove to be the only way to beat the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on Sunday. The Lions are coming off a disappointing draw at Marvel Stadium against a North Melbourne team that lacks the ability and know how to win games (except when playing Melbourne). Brisbane are, however, a different kettle of fish at home and have very few positional weaknesses. They are a midfield powerhouse, strong in defence and have plenty of forward options, particularly their small and medium sized players, to kick a winning score this week after the sting of last week’s below par performance.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

  • PREGAME: Brisbane

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?
