You're basically saying that you were happy that we lost that day.

BEST.LOSS.EVER.

If given the choice, would you rather a meaningless win over Richmond or TOM SCULLY?

KOTD!!!

I still really dislike when our supporters say "thank you jordan mcmahon!!". You're basically saying that you were happy that we lost that day. I was [censored] shattered. It only adds fuel to the "Melbourne tanked" arguers fire.

ALWAYS WANT MELBOURNE TO WIN!! YOU'RE NOT A REAL SUPPORTER IF YOU DON'T WANT MELBOURNE TO WIN!! EVERY GAME IS IMPORTANT AND WE NEED TO TRY TO WIN EVERY GAME!!

Wahh!

Whenever someone accuses your club of tanking in 09 - your smile, you wink, you mention Trengove's form, and you let them stew in your arrogance.

Don't be so naive, any and every club would have done the same.

If they had the balls to do it...

Pretty much. Watching Trengove & Scully placates that anger.

Besides, how did Collingwood have both Pendlebury & Thomas a year after making 2 GF's???

Cheers again McMahon.

Still can't believe he kicked it.

I hope I never have to enjoy a loss again as a supporter.

Hmm... is that because we tanked?

I've heard and witnessed some embarassing moments from Melbourne supporters ... and this thread is up there with the worst

How depressing is that for him. The most interesting thing he ever did was give us Scully, who barracked for the Tiges.

He actually gave us Trengove. We still would have had the first pick, and picked Scully with it.

I'm guessing you are younger than the rest of us...

That's all i'll say...

And i'm 25!

Put up with too much crap to care about being called a 'tanker' we did what Collingwood did to get Pendles and Daisy.

Does anyone think they feel embarrassed about that?

I think what is trying to be said is there are perceptions about Melb supporters, that we wallow in misery and actually enjoy it, this thread seems to perpetuate that myth. Most of the time this board has some really good discussions on it, this is not one of them. That was the season before last I thought we would have all moved on

I'd have thought this thread does the opposite.

It shows that (many) Melbourne fans are passionate about winning a flag at all costs and are happy that the club is doing all it can to achieve this goal.

How is anyone (aside from those complaining about the tank) wallowing in misery in this thread?

I'd say it gave us Scully.

If we won (and beaten Freo by the same amount) we'd have finished above the Tiges and only had pick 2.

AFL make the rules, we operate under them. If you think that clubs dont tank, u are deluded!!! Im still annoyed we won the Kreuzer cup... Not a very strategic move. Funny though, does anyone really think we would have beaten Freo if the hero of this thread had not have kicked that goal, i dont think so..............

There is no way we would have ever won the Kreuzer cup; Carlscum were never going to let us win. My daughter bought a couple of Pommy friends to the game and I explained to them the draft situation and exactly how the game would play out before the first bounce. The only thing I did not predict with unerring accuracy was Whitnall kicking backwards and dashing back to be the most unaccountable loose man in defence that I have ever seen.

Speak to the AFL mate. Not the supporters here.

Lest you cheer on Scully or Trengove. You user name is not in reference to our compliment of Jacks is it? Come on....all in jest and good fortune.

If your casting dispersions on your own fellow supporters, re think that logic and check in with Collingwood supporters. Widely acknowledged as the most passionate  Do you think they have a problem with the great tank to get Pendles & Thomas?

This, as with all rules was there to be manipulated and MANY clubs took advantage.

Remember the days of zones? Remember players changing postcodes and residences? Nah, only the MFC and their sad supporters get up to those games!

Neither can I. Still pinching myself. B)

I was at this game and the funny thing was Jordan couldn't a target allday. I left with 5 mins to go in disgust that we had blown our golden chance of snaring quality youth only to make it to the car in time to hear this most exciting passage of play and jump around the MCG carpark like a man posessed.

Whoever believe's it would have been better to win really needs to look at the bigger picture FFS !!!!!!

What's there to Hide? We all know that the club planned as well as it could to win no more than 4 games last year.

The Prize for Jordan's MAGNIFICENT kick was the first 2 Draft Picks.

Who cares what other supporters are saying....Collingwood Tanked in 2004-5 does anybody worry about it now??

But we did not lose that day. We actually had a Massive win. I hate losing, But i knew what we had won.

Although a few posters are trying to shout down.....the point I am trying to make, yes it is the preseason, yes there isn't much news, but this is a thread about a Richmond player on something that happened two seasons ago........we have so much to look forward to, yes he may have made a contribution to our future.....but who bloody cares!!!!!!!

I care.

It's not every day you walk away from a loss happy.

Knowing it was better for your team.

Knowing there was a direct correlation between this club winning a flag and what Jordan McMahon did after the siren on that day.

Oh sorry I have got it now, so if Tom Scully or Jack Trengove don't progress to everyone's satsifaction in the next couple of years and we don't win a flag......then it will be Jordan McMahon's fault and we will have somebody to blame
