demonhq twetted jordie mac signed a 2 year deal as a senior player

Great news, What an unexpected gem the dees have unearthed in Jordie !!!

Bloody ripper Ranga, rapt 2 have this kid onboard for the ride

Onya Jordie!!!! Looking forward to his regular contributions to the Dees! :)

And just quietly.... similarities between Jordie and James McDonald:

- Both came off the Rookie List.

- Both the same type of never-say-die player with a bit of grunt yet not the greatest in disposal efficiency.

- Both absolutely rack up the tackles!!!

- Both have initials JM AND JMac :P

FREAKY!!! In a good way ;)

Jordie was actually the story of the year 2010.

He is an example to other young players-just because you are a rookie, or playing in the 2's. If you play hard competitive footy you will get noticed & rewarded.

And Jordie went one Further, when given his opportunity he kept improving to become a regular player in the senior side.

His Tackling was just superb, another player i want to see excel in september.

I don't doubt i'll get shot down for this so i'll preface it by saying i'm not having a dig as I agree with the comparison and would love to see his career play out like Jr.'s - maybe with a premiership though. But...

Members of the coaching staff of Melbourne have described Jordies handball under pressure and below the knees as elite. Disposal efficiency isn't that questionable for this type of player surely.

He is the perfect example of a player who is not quick by foot but is quick of mind. Makes excellent decisions, especially in close and has more than adequate disposal out wide. KOTD yet again.

Love Jordie!

What is KOTD hun?

Kissed on the ....

Jordie McMahon did it. So did the Blues.

Oh.. I was thinking Kid of the Draft or something to that effect. Wonder if Hawks will be next to "pucker up"

The new tackling machine.

I only hope every MFC player attacks the ball and the man with as much vigour as this kid!

If Todd Viney has anything to do with it I reckon they will.

Well done Jordie .......a true Demon.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
