My favourite player after Chip.

This kid will be a star and sooner than you think.

His kicking is also underrated by most.

will be an elite top 5 player in the league soon enuf dees fans

Geez this kid's going to be something. I love his hard running.

I'll never forget his running goal against Sydney.

Yes if you look for that game on Youtube Bruce and Dennis get rather excited as well!!

Great First up season Sculls..You wear the 31 with distinction.

Can't wait to see this kid in september action. He will Thrive on it.

I prefer the one against the Lions in Round 4 that he roves off the back off a boundary throw-in. "Hang on - Scully . . . Scully . . . You little ripper!"

Yes i bought the DVD of that whole Game...it was a top night!!

The swans clip is worth watching-the editor has done a top job whom ever it is!

Without a doubt this player is a rare gem. His skills, brain and overall football prowess made him a treat to watch in his debut season and he's only going to get better.

The boy is a gun, perhaps Matty Burgan puts it best in his China Diaries when describing Scully's attempt at basket making:

"But perhaps the bamboo basket made by young-gun Tom Scully wasn’t a highlight (finally, the kid has a flaw!)" :)

It's hard to believe that this was Tom's debut season. Showed outstanding endurance, the best hands in the business and the 'football brain' of an established champion. Will be a matchwinner for the Dees, and potentially one of the elite players of the competition.

I'm tipping a very high finish in the b n f from the kid next year.

Is it possible to say that Scully's year was underrated?

We here on Demonland get carried away with the likes on Watts, Jurrah, Sylvia and co admiring there god given talent however when it comes to young Tom I don't think he receives the same praise. Perhaps it has just got to do with the way he plays his footy. Uncompromising and a will to win at all costs.

As Matty Campbell said the kid is a ripper

Most impressive was his work off the footy, late in games, trying to create opportunities for his teammates.

He is the perfect example of the champion player that makes the players around him better.

Absolutely love this kid.

So much so that his number is going on the back of the footy jumper I buy next year.

I don't think many realise that Scully was played out of position this year. He is an onballer not a wingman and desperately wants to get into the middle. DB held him back as West wanted him in the centre bounces. I think he will flourish even more when allowed to play his nature game which is to hunt the football...

All Hail the new King

A very impressive year for the rook' and one from which I think he can only move up and on from. I would be prediciting a top 5 in the B&F next year.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
