Demonland Prediction of the Week

Featured Replies

I went with this a fortnight ago but it obviously didn't happen because Jack Trengove wasn't ready to come back.

With Jack in sparkling form yesterday for the Scorpions, I'm predicting he'll be back this week and Tom will be given a rest.

I saw Beamer at Box Hill yesterday and he said he was raring to go next week. He shot me a nice look when I suggested it might be hard to fight his way back into the team. Only kidding Beamer

You're either very brave or very stupid. We'll go with brave shall we?

Green to kick 6 or more goals.

Reiwoldt to kick 2.

Newman reported.

I'd love the trifecta here.

Jurrah to come good and kick 4

Jordie to run with Dustin Martin and smash him everytime he tries a fend off! B)

Watts to break out with the best game of his career.....and 7 goals to go with it!

Ralphius you beat me to it this week!

I'll go with another strong showing by the Dees and a win by 45 points.

Tiges will not kick over 60 points against our awesome back line.

dees by 6 goals with Jurrah to light up the 'G with 5 goals, in a pleasing return to form

i can see wonaeamirri kicking 4 goals

and cale morton to have 33 disposals, and top the posession count

Luke Tapscott to debut - 20 touches and a goal

Decent crowd between 45-48,000 will watch the Dees win by 3-4 goals.

Yep good call HT, any chance we could hit the 50,000? I reckon this a good shake this week and would be great for our coffers.

last time they me it was a crowd of 41k"ish" and a massive win by MFC... with both teams coming off a win, i'd say this post could, should be closest to the pin.

It will be a big one I'll go higher 62,498

Haha, if these happen I'll be the happiest man alive.

Dees to get up by 18, Sylvia to dominate again and Jurrah to kick goal of the year.

I Think your meds have kicked in mate.......

Joel MacDonald BOG with 1 goal 27 Possesions 13 kicks 14 Handballs 6 Marks 2 contested 7 Tackles.

Continuing on from previous weeks, where the complete opposite of what I predict comes true...

Richmond to win by 8 goals, Frawley to get so angry that Reiwoldt is beating him, he beats up Col Garland and gets sacked. I then proceed to jump off a bridge due to the complete and utter humiliation of losing to Richmond

(So in other words, we smash Richmond and Frawley rips Reiwoldt a new one, earning himself an AA spot. I then declare to anyone who will listen that we're a shoe-in for the flag this year )

Joel MacDonald BOG with 1 goal 27 Possesions 13 kicks 14 Handballs 6 Marks 2 contested 7 Tackles.

That's pretty specific. Mark Jamar will kick three goals, though, so that'll be nice.

The number of pages in the "Changes versus Richmond" thread to reach double figures

Well we did get 49,000 to the Essendon game a few weeks ago. With us having won 3 of our last 4, including the last 2, and Richmond having won 5 of their last 7, including last week vs Adelaide, hopefully we can get close to that figure, if not past it. Weather will be crucial though, only 19,000 at Rich vs Adel.

Melbourne to win by 10 goals Green kicks 7 and Moloney to big and strong in the midfield.

Col Sylvia is BOG 39 touches and 2 goals. Every Melbourne is fantastic.

GO DEES!!

Brad Green to kick 6

Colin Garland to get 20+ possies.

jack watts 4, scully to equal his career high of 39 possessions, jordie mackenzie to win a rising star award nominee after smashing dustin martin keeping him to only 10 posessions and himself racking up 26 possies and 14 tackles

Would be pleasantly surprised if it came to fruition. Go close. I'll stick with the 45-48,000 mark. Weather a big factor. Still, I reckon there will be a good turnout of Dees in the crowd. The Tigers have been very competitive. The yellow & black die hards will be there, plus a few more thanks to their impressive showings of late.

It's the anniversary of the McMahon game. Wonder if he will be selected ? :o

edit: McMahon is out injured for 2 weeks; everyone can relax !

Weather for Sunday: Cloud increasing during day; Patchy rain developing later in day 15. (Saturday is FINE).

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
