It will be interesting to see how this game plays out as these 2 teams have the most opposing gameplans in the comp with Sydney shutting down the game and trying to get as many stoppages around the ground and the Dees ranked no. 1 in playing on after taking a mark.

Who runs with Goodes? Dunn & Bruce teaming him?

Sydney will try and take advantage of our slow starts and hit the scoreboard early even though they aren't a fast starting side.

Bails should tell the team we're playing the 3rd quarter first this week!!!

Moloney out, Wonna in.

Oh dear. Has that won the game for Sydney??

...Wonna, Jurrah, Bennell and Davey....here come the party tricks.

HOPEFULLY!!! Wona hasn't been overly fantastic in his few games for us this year...

It's an interesting late change - a midefielder out, replaced by a small forward. I guess Maric can run in the middle.

no moloney, mcdonald, trengove will hurt us. mckenzie needs to really step up. i guess it means jones and sylvia will play sleightlydifferent roles this week than they have been this year

no moloney, mcdonald, trengove will hurt us.

... or Grimes.

Great chance for Wonna, Maric etc., but not ideal. This was a winnable game, now ... not so sure!

Jimmy on the boundary line =

Inspiration factor. Nice.

(Vfl: early.. "so far Luke tapscott in everything!")

the WA factor come into play late.. but, 5 goal win to us today - slyvia to star -

McLovin the Wonna - Green combo!

Green goal no.3 - 10 mins in..

Jimmy and Bails on the bench - Q.1 - every game demon_cool.gif

EDIT: Bruce goal now! 4 gls up - halfway thru the 1st

Edited by DemonDan...

Watts to Jurrah - niiiiice!

Jackerly Watts killin em

goal jurrah -Dees 6.0 v Syd 1.0

Jones goal

Holy F**k.

7 gls straight to sydney 1 goal straight.

It cant last.. we'll have to tire eventually.. but are we making hay or what!!

Edited by DemonDan...

Dolly Dunn, goal no.2

8 straight d's to 2 straight swans.

still 8 mins to qtr time

bail shouldve shepparded thru a Watts goal - he learn from it - wouldve been 9 straight!!!

dees 50 v syd 13

wow.

casey up against collingc**t in the VFL - just hit the front.

Bate and miller last 2 goals - miller just got his 2nd on the trot.

Casey 4.5 to coll 3.1

Go DEES 1sts and 2nds!

EDIT: another casey goal (smith). 3 in 2 mins.. cant keep up!

Casey 5.5 to coll 3.1.

Tappy good in the middle

I take it all back. Watts may or may not cure cancer, play in multiple premierships for the Ds and win a Nobel prize. But he is in the contest, tries his guts out and has extaordinary talent.

Q2

Green 1st goal

Dees 7 odd gls up

casey, 6 goal 2nd qtr so far - 5 gls up on filth 2nds

EDIT: Pike totally misses a spoil in the goalsquare - another goal.

Casey another goal too!

Edited by DemonDan...

Scully another one

WHAT THE F**K!!!!

dees 55 points up few mins in q.2!!!

Gold.

Edited by DemonDan...

8 goal lead at half time.

Great to see the Dees playing with confidence. Our skill level suddenly improves and we hit targets.

The speed of our forward is awesome. When Sydney defenders have the ball our forwards materialise beside them. Good signs for the future.

Sylvia dominating in the midfield.

Jamar - goalsquare - mark - goal. 20 secs to halftime.

Dees 48 pts up

Special mention to:

Slyvia- leading possies

Green- him or sly bog so far..

Bruce- amazing how good he is with actual support

Davey

Frawls

Morton on goodes- goodes 1st qtr win, morts 2nd qtr win, 13 possies each, morts with a couple extra marks and tackles-but goodes has a goal.

and Bartram..

What a story Clint bartram. A really good year and rapidly approaching a level we all hoped he could get to.

I think the whole family thing he went thru a couple of years ago wouldve knocked him around a bit more than people realise.

He was such a hardass when he 1st started- an instant fav amongst many and another potential 'matty whelen'- and he's back at that level again this season..

Hope he keeps it up.

Another good game from him so far today.

Kickin back to enjoy the 2nd half - which i guessed earlier, may be a little quieter for us after the WA trip - but think we have a good enough lead

Enjoy people.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
