Getting home from the G via the disgraceful VLIne service on Saturday witnessed the following: -

Dozens of MFC and C'Wood supporters abandoned at Caulfield station when the fill-in buses (*trackwork meant not trains betw. pakenham and Caulfield) forgot to pick up their passengers. then not enough buses, then another wait at Caulfield. Then at Pakenham station another forty minute wait only to be (initially) told that the Bairndale train was 'express' and would miss a number of stations.

that is ordinary-The Train operators would have well known that the MCG match was scheduled.

Sadly the Trains in Melbourne have become outdated & unreliable. Which all Governments should be ashamed of.

The Population is growing by 2,000 a week FFS.

Apparently the buses were waiting at Flinders St Station instead of Caulfield, where they should have been. NOrmally travelling in by train is fantastic and much less stressful than driving and finding a park etc. but on this occasion they totally went off the rails.

Ah, yes Melbourne train service nothing has changed :o

I normally drive to the ground from Taylors lakes, on a bad day it takes about 40 minutes to get out of the ground and then drive home.

On monday I decided to drive to a station and then train it in as I expected a bigger crowd than normal.

Took 40 minutes to get there however the trip home took 1 hour 35 minutes, stood at Jolimont for 15 minutes before a train arrived then 18 minutes at Finders street for a train on Broady line. Both times the trains went via the loop which must have added 20 minutes min. to the journey. Why the trains do not run the other way at that time of the day when the vast majority of people are leaving the city is beyond me.

Then again these are the same peolple that have delivered MYKI to us!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sympathise, don't let that stop you from taking the train next time; it is a no-brainer.

I take the freeway to Burke Road, missing any tolls, park at Gardiner and train it to Richmond or Spencer Street. No hassle with parking and no parking fees, no wait to get out of the carpark. They run football specials after each game that leave about a half-hour after the game ends.

Sorry the Commodore for me from now on! It does not to go via the loop.

Righto Guys I work for metro, (laugh at me now!!!) lol...

They are doing works at Westall station, putting in a third track/new platforms; I got the 740 bus from Flinders Street to Pakenham which connected to a 850ish Traralgon train.

Also the government delivered your myki's not Vline or Metro.

As for the night works they have been doing that for the last 3-4months, also please note there will be at least on disruption per month, lets hope we are not playing on that day...

The Bottom Line is that it could of been better organised with the bus scheduling, and connecting trains, and also the track works has to be done its a must as the Westall station is going to open is September,

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
