Round 16 , Dogs play Port Sat night, but both play Round 17 on a Sunday.

Just an observation in relation to more time to recover after the Darwin game.

I still think the Darwin match should be played before the mid-season break, but we asked for it, we pocket the money, we can deal with only getting 7 days compared to a possible 8.

Its not a draw, its a fixture!

I'm glad they fixtured us to play Geelong the round after our game in Darwin. Losing to Geelong is much better than losing to Richmond, as Port Adelaide did. I'm not too disappointed.

Correct, Some people are just not satisfied ever. Our Draw this year has been Superb. The AFL have given us every chance to get back on our feet- what more could they do in the first 12 Rounds???

My issue is nothing to do with the Darwin game but you never see Collingwood, Essendon, Carlton, Hawthorn have to go and play at Skilled Stadium, I know Geelong like playing those games in Melbourne for the gate receipts but they choose Skilled Stadium to be their home ground and it is a massive advantage for them that none of the 4 teams above have to deal with. Geelong should have to rotate who they play their home games at the MCG/Etihad against to make the draw truly fair.

When you look at their winning streak down there would Carlton beat them down there like they did earlier in the year at the MCG if that game was a Geelong home game (it wasnt) or in Round 1 the Geelong home game against Essendon at the MCG would of Essendon got as close as they did to knocking them off?

Don't they make more money playing at Skilled because they own it and almost everything inside it?

The AFl would make them play the higher drawing crowd games at the G to get more people into the games, I rekcon if Geelong had their own way they would prefer to play all games at Skilled

The Bulldogs won the following game in 2008 & 2009 but this was over the split round on both occasions, so they had a week off in between.

The last team to do it the following week was Port adelaide in Round 21 2004 - their premiership year I believe.

Agree that we need to pull bigger crowds to not play down there and I am not complaining that we do but my point is for the draw to be truly equal the big four need to play Geelong at some point down at Geelong.

Geelong playing those clubs at the MCG as a home game effectively gives them another home game or at worst a neutral game.

But the Draw is not about being fair. It's about making money, and the Big 4 Clubs (i hate that term) can make a lot more at the MCG.

Don't hold your breath on a "fair & Eqitable" draw. It will not happen.

P.S. The MFC draw this year has been superb so i am not worried.

Down the track I wouldn't mind seeing an interstate game out of the way within our first 4 or so games. I don't have any major reservations with our draw at this point but I think as we improve we'll appreciate not having our second half being stacked with the interstate games. We only travel to Perth once which is good but we also have AAMI twice and the 'Gabba. We only play at the MCG twice from rnd 13 to rnd 18. I'm thinking it is only a matter of time before we cop 2 Perth games again so definitely one of them out of the way early would be good IMO. Geelong have their 2nd Perth game this week and I think they'll be happy to have them both out of the way before closing in on finals. 7 of our first 8 games this year were at the 'G so I think transferring just one of them to the latter half of the season wouldn't hurt our early momentum at all.

Yes i agree, but for 2010 having so many games at the 'G by round 12 has certainly helped our Membership.

Maybe Vlad really wants to see the MFC prosper and realizes we are an important asset for the future, either that or our "wish List" last year was brilliantly written!

I'd say the Bulldogs aren't a high drawing crowd team & their membership is only 900 higher than ours at the moment, yet they don't play at Skilled stadium.

Last time the Bulldogs played there was July 2008, before that, it was May 2005. As a matter of fact, they have only played there 5 times in 10 years.

Melbourne on the other hand, have played 9 times in 10 years.

If Geelong want to play 6 games a year at there ground, it's about time the Bulldogs & Melbourne take turns until we begin to draw big crowds & we never have to see that sh*thole again!!!

I think Darwin and Casey are excellent decisions and helping to grow our base in new areas. Will expand the brand that is mFC

There is no split round after GC joins. Each week will be a bye for a different team. After GWS joins the split round MAY be back but don't count on it.
