Matchday Thread - Demons v Power

Featured Replies

We need 2 goals this qtr.... Then it is ours.... We do not need Port to get a sniff.... How many red bulls has Col had tonight??? Wings???

The boys will be ok I reckon.... The pain of the earlier losses to the Pies and the Dogs will spur them to victory

Go Green you good thing!!

On ya Green. Lets get another one.

Sylvia doing some great ruck work.

Davey is back

as for the Jetta knockers or wont make it eat humble pie ladies

This match has the Collingwood and the Bulldog situation written all over it: work hard, take a good lead, but fail to kill off the opposition and have the game pinched.

Fancy handballs in the back half still hurt our side big time!! Just get the ball out boys...

This game is not won yet.

Must run it out.

About time somebody said that. You can't take a five goal lead into the last quarter and just take it easy.

Cannot lose another with a lead like this.

Miller has to be put up forward.

It's pretty much Travis Boak vs Melbourne right now but they're still in it

15.8.98 to 11.10.76

Its becoming a habit.

Its now 5 goals and its really a step back to have him in the team. FFS. Tonights effort answered critics who thought he was finished.

What??

Its non-sensical crap that you continually spit out thats becoming a habit..

Tonights effort hardly means much..

REPEAT: Miller needs to this EVERY game to be considered 'not finished' as a player..

How quickly we forget.. although, i hear age can do that to you..

Nervous all of a sudden D:

15.8.98 to 12.10.82

From the view of my laptop it looks like Port and running all over us this quarter.

And this game doesn't have Collingwood/Doggies written all over it, we were behind for a lot of those games.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
