IT'S A GRAND OLD FLAG

IT'S A HIGH FLYING FLAG

IT'S THE EMBLEM FOR ME AND FOR YOU

IT'S THE EMBLEM OF

THE TEAM WE LOVE

THE TEAM OF THE RED AND THE BLUE

EVERY HEART BEATS TRUE

FOR THE RED AND THE BLUE

AND WE SING THIS SONG TO YOU (WHAT DO WE SING)

SHOULD OLD ACQUAINTANCE BE FORGOT

KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE RED AND THE BLUE

Beat the Cats at Skill next week and we are in the eight.. Do you think they will have any petrol left.

I know that last quarter was utter rubbish from us, but we were stuffed.

Jamar could barely breath, we had Aussie, Morton and Watts who are lacking a bit of fitness, we haven't won an interstate game since 1973 and Port are a good team.

We dominated for long periods of the game and deserved to win. This victory should not be underestimated.

GO DEES!!!

If the coaching staff ever put Sylvia in the ruck when you have bigger guys like Miller there I'll vomit!

Cost us 4 goals (no fault of Sylvia's).

No team, I do not care how experienced should lose a game when 32pts up at 3/4 time.

Especially when they were playing a ok side, not Geelong or another of their ilk.

I'm just so f****** relieved we held on. Took a lot of character to get back the lead with a few minutes left. Bennell - 4 goals, Watts - 2 goals, Miller - 5 goals... Jetta on fire. There's a lot to enjoy about tonight's game.

The win will do them a world of good. Bailey's fist interstate win!

GOOOO DEEEEEEEESSSSSS!

isn't it also the first time Bailey has coached a win away from the MCG?

Thank feck! Now I can stop listening to those idiot ABC Adelaide radio commentators - learn the Melbourne player's names FFS. GO DEES

Should have got a stream from SEN, great call by their blokes.

Trengove the match winner! -I was prayng for someone to rush a behind-

Jamar 34 hit-outs!

Miller 5 goals.. Benny 4..

The Jet 8 tackles, 6 marks..

Watts.. gettin better all the time..

Nice...

sorry to say, but they would be destroyed after that game. Need a good recovery after the darwin game. May have a few more outs next week for the sore bodies.

I hate Foxtel, poor cameras and no song!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They will learn a lot more from that game, then if they had gone on to a big win. Good sides never give up and win when challanged.

5 goals up is nothing in footy these days

Trengove over the top to hit it in for a point, just smart.

love it.

ITS A GRAND OLD FLAG

fantastic effort all round in trying conditions

Russian you efforts are inspirational

great effort boys

special mention to the Jet

nev welcome back

The stuff heart attacks are made from...Go Dee's!

Sylvia in the ruck when the game is in the balance WTF! What about using Miller.

Foxel would have to be THE WORST channel to watch live footy on, replays while live action is happening :o

We need to play fit players only.

Me too,I thought we would fold as soon as port had a lead, mind you I thought port had unbelievable luck(as they often do)and we overcame "that" too.Have watched footy for near 5 decades, still don't remember a side on song having such [censored] umpires and bad bounces.

Jamar could barely breath,

And yet, he (pretty much) took the winning mark, which he would have slotted.

Robbed of the play that would launch him into MFC folklore, and forever squash the "spud" calls...

We win by one.

Miller kicks 5!

Tonights effort (from miller), doesnt mean much in terms of his career.. he needs to do it EVERY week, is what i said..

The shame that you would pull out a snippet of my statement and twist it and change it to suit your arguement.. i agreed he had A good game..

You have just joined the lowest of posters that would resort to doing such a thing - just to look good in front of a bunch of strangers..

You battle hard, but now you just sound like a fool.. lost all respect rhino, your true colours have shone thru..

Anyway.. cant you just enjoy the win?

I certainly am..

Miller was rucking around the ground. I think they would have trialled him at training and decided he wasn't any good, so go with Sylvia who wasn't absolutely rediculous (nearly won a few) and then gave something at ground level.

As for foxtel saying we would have been better off with Spencer, they clearly didn't watch Jetta's game.

Next week I expect to see Spencer in though to give the russian a chop out. He can't do as much as he did this week every week of the season.

And yet, he (pretty much) took the winning mark, which he would have slotted.

He was enormous for us today, seriously brilliant.

There is no spud left in him anymore, he is all beast.

(But he should never kick the ball) B)

My throat is horse, the Umpires suck, we had the cat in the bag, then someone opened it again and let it out, it then claws us and it takes a Super bloody human effort to choke the life out of it at the end.

If anyone here is not proud of the boys then, you should hang your head in shame.

30+ degrees up there.

Its a wonder they all just didnt collapse on the ground like Jamar did at the end.

Talk about Character building !!!

Well done DEES but please dont make a habit of it , I dont mean winning, I just mean winning by a kick.

The stress is terrible on everyone.

But a win is a win and bugger it we deserve it, all of us, we really did deserve it!!

Happy now. This was a game we really needed to win, even before we got out to a 30+ point lead. Port have been in very good form and as has been mentioned we have had a few problems away from the 'G. Getting over the line in this one is a huge step forward as well as keeping our season on track.

Well done team.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
