Brock walked out on us & went to Carlton. We recieved Pick 11....NEXT. B)

believe me, Brock was quietly pushed. It suited the Club and him to give the impression he walked out cos it gave Carlton the justification to give us pick 11. on current grounds, this could never be justified, given the quality of gysberts, and even Tapscott. We got by far the best deal, and the timing was perfect given the GC and WS dominated drafts for the next two years.

The Club was very very smart on this deal, and we should just be satisfied and move on and enjoy watching "the kids"

I'd heard Bailey didn't know he was going til it hit the media, and was surprised as the two were good mates. Seems a little less clear cut than that.

How many times can people have the same conversation. Who cares if he was pushed, he walked or if he was kidnapped by Carlton he is no longer worth discussing.

It's a footy forum. And it's fun.

Great thread. The entire basis was that Brock was having an operation and out for 12 months. Comes out and plays less than 2 weeks later. No0one seems to have picked up on this. Where did Healy get this info?

Pringle, it was I who revisited this thread to make precisely that point, but unfortunately as usual, it gets sidetracked by people with an agenda of sticking it to Brock for his decision to leave the club.

I said (a few posts above): "Sometimes I have to wonder where these kinds of rumours spring from... and the interesting thing with his one is that it was never refuted... until today when one Brock McLean is running around against West Coast. "

One point missing from this thread is that Brock is likely to play finals this year (if he doesn't have that season ending operation). Although Melbourne may make the 8 this year, I think that Brock will be happy he made the move. I think that there is a spot for a quality player like Brock at both clubs and if a guy makes a decision about a club based on recovery plans from injury it shows where his head is at.

Brock may be Happy but i know a lot of Carlton supporters who are furious!!! Particularly after last saturday.

(Brock hasn't been a Quality player since 2006-we were all just hoping it would happen)

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
