At this stage it seems to be a very shallow plan, but not unlike Fremantle's plan. Kick it long to Jamar on one of the flanks and either cause a stoppage (boundary throw in) or rove off Jamar. If we do cause a stoppage, we back ourselves to win the clearance.

Don't look atthe forward line structure, we didn't get the ball in there enough and when we did the delivery was rubbish...

I completely agree. The game style we play requires precise disposal and hard running, without both it falls down horribly. Particularly, if the players running to create are flat footed.

Oh my god, yes. So unaccountable. Does anyone actually know who lined up on either? A couple of times I watched them carefully at stoppages and could not see an MFC marking them at all.

Absolutely. But it wasn't just our young guys who were bad today. Davey, Sylvia, Rivers, Johnson; all these players and more were really disappointing.

Being satisfied can be a [censored]. Happy with our efforts to get in & near the eight, then uh-oh, we've relaxed & ouch, a loss that we comfortably thought we could win.

I mean come on boys you looked comfortable and non attentive, like the match annoyingly got in the way of a good nap.

But honestly no one has the right to complacency and if that was present it needs to get removed, fast.

Yeah some of the match ups today left me scratching my head.

Frawley on Kennedy was the most logical match up of all, followed by Warnock on Lynch and Bartram on Le Cras. Le Cras is the quickest little [censored] going around, he burnt both Garland and Frawley on the lead, and these boys are super quick.

Bails seemed very slow to react to this..we got caught on the hop here..poor form.

And the set ups around the contest were weird too. How many times did West Coast have free men standing around the back of the pack just waiting for the ball to come out. We had very little accountability which was so so disappointing.

Coaching let us down, and so did our intensity. We were so flat today, and not just the kids who might be a bit sore and tired, but senior players. Bruce had a shocker with disposal again, Green was very very quiet, Sylvia was nowhere to be seen, Davey was off early, Bate struggled with the ankle, PJ was wasting his time and ours, and Rivers struggled. Then you had Moloney again resorting to his long, high, useless bombs into the 50m out of frustration, and Jonesy who struggled to get a clean touch. With the exception of Junior (the man is a warrior), our experienced players really did let us down.

The flatness was what killed us. Almost as id only one team came to play. Out speed and intensity has been the way weve been able to utilise the corridor but as soon as we go off the boil we shoot ourselves in the feet. Bruce..a shocker with disposal ..surely you jest...lmao.. why oh why would you ever give him a job where accuracy of delivery is required ??? beggars belief. This alone realy makes me wonder at times what Bails is trying to do. Now for those slow of mind this is not a call for his head.. but more a please explain and get with it Dean, youre simply being out coached..pick it up.

Some senior players need to face their younger comrades and offer an apology for some of their feebleness. pathetic.

that would probably go without saying, however my thrust was in context that they were all playing together ( supposedly ) and it was many of the kids that held their own whilst older and supposedly mor eexperienced heads ( and bodies ) gave lamentable efforts. Those that didnt ought to bow to those that did !!

Totally agree rpfc. The clean out of this list is far from over, i realized this during the second half last saturday.

That's the main point of this. I have heard those excuses for years. Not good enough anymore-If a player is picked in the senior Team he is ready to go.

that may qualify his game...but there is no excues. To concede excuses is to allow mediocrity and accept underachievement. This is top level professional sport. Its all or nothing.

as an addendum..I would not surprise in the least if Brad was all but of the same thinking. He would be his own harshest judge.

All players have off days, but when the majority of the senior players have them on the same day, that is unacceptable & must change.

It happens naturally in life. It happens to most people, you get happy with your output & lose the edge off your appetite (hunger), till your desire rises again.

Some can manage the satisfaction & not let it effect their intensity, but I guess that takes practice. No, I'm not trying to be smart, I'm talking football. PFFFT, but you can see the similarities to life.

Other than Green I reckon that's about right. I thought Green tried pretty hard. And usually does. So a bit harsh to say that Green's effort precludes him from being, or becoming, captain.

JMac is inspirational. The kind of player any club wants. He's our Sam Mitchell (or to be fair, Mitchell is Hawthorn's McDonald).

Green has played consistently well this season.

That does not make him a good onfield leader, nor does it give him an exception for what happened on Saturday.

Leadership isn't playing well when 15 of your teammates are playing well.

Leadership is driving those 15 players to play better when they are flat.

Parking yourself off the half back flank and picking up cheapies isn't what Macca does.

Run your guts out.

Don't sit back and direct where others should run.

Get to the bottom off the pack.

Don't wait forward of a pack pleading for the pill.

Take the tackle and give it properly to a teammate.

Don't indiscriminately handball or kick just to avoid contact.

And whoever mentioned Sylvia is kidding themselves - the bloke can barely lead himself let alone anyone else.

How old is he ? 33 ? Led by example. I thought McKenzie battled hard to be honest for the team. But back to Junior. I don't think the "wet hard slog" took it's toll on ol' Junior. Which is why I'm a bit sceptical as to why others make excuses because of the "wet hard slog" against the Bulldogs 8 days earlier. Apparently - according to some - it contributed to a lack of intensity and players being left flat footed.

Please, try looking at West Coast's preparation for the game, and the fact they forced us wide time and again, and took control of the centre corridor, next time. The fact that their midfield were superior on the day because of their relentless pressure and tackling, the fact they had hit up experienced forwards in Kennedy, Le Cras and Lynch who have been around a while, thanks to pressuring and creating Melbourne turnovers.

I think the idea that Green goes to water when we're struggling is incorrect. I wish I could say the same about some of the other names rpfc reeled off.
