A thought on the Richmond game

The Pies thought we were a big % game for them,i just hope for an injury free win.

We have won the last 10 quarters of football by a combined total of 15 points,so lets just settle for gradual team improvement and not expecting big % gains just yet.

Dees by 72 points.

I had a look at the draw yesterday. I can see 8 possible wins. However, I think we'll probably lose at least a couple of those ones and hopefully we'll get a surprise win somewhere. I'm thinking 7 wins for the season. Whilst that's not much, it's still the same amount of games that we've won in the past two years!

As for early season form, we've got a good draw, but we shouldn't get too far ahead of ourselves. Teams suffer injuries and improve in form throughout the year and we don't know what the later part of the season will hold.

As for the Tiges. I don't think we should take this game easy. We should have a decent crack at them and try to get a big win, not for percentage, but to reward the long suffering fans and boost membership.

7 wins is a 75% improvement over last year.

I am very confident that we will win on Sunday, we would have beaten Richmond in 'that' infamous game last year... We are through the worst and Richmond are an absolute disgrace to themselves and the AFL. However, I wouldn't jump on the $1.36 that is being offered by betfair!! Losing would be a disaster for Bails and our boys.

I guarantee you that a win of 41 points will give us a percentage of 100%....

Christ I hope our players don't go in with the same mindset. Seconds from disaster.

Couldn`t agree more. Would be great to give them a flogging, but some people have just got way too ahead of themselves. I just want the win, nothing else!

I`ll be more nervous in this match than I have been for years because we are expected to win!!

the percentage will depend upon score for and against. it's not the 41 point margin that will determine whether we get to 100 %. we owe richmond one for their win over us last season. demoralising. ;)

Beg to differ. If we win by 41 points, regardless of the score, our For n Against will be the same! = 100%

Agreed.

By the way your blog about the Adelaide game was spot on.

Ditto ditto..

Was just thinking yesterday, The tiges will probably treat this as their 'grand final' game - as we have the queens b'day game for the last few years - and its a match that I'm suddenly not comfortable with..

Esp after their players suspensions, as a club i fear they'll come out all guns blazing and i worry it might catch us napping.

Still, we should win.

I'm very confident we will have a comfortable win. 60 points plus IMO.

You think. Sure the Tiges will come out firing but they lack skill and confidence and if we keep our cool we will not only wear them down but eventually thoroughly outplayed them. Our current side just has too much class and is playing with great confidence. I'm sure the coaches are well aware of complacency as theyhave already talked about publicly. If you remember there were many on here who had the same concerns about let down after the Pies game. Therewas nosign of it last week. Our skills were a bit down in the first half but not the intensity. Eventually our class told. We will be ok, and should have a good win. The tigers are on their uppers and will remain there for some time. IMO their young brigade are nothing like as good as ours and their older brigade do not have the class and current form as the likes of Jmac, Green, Bruce, jamar, petterd, grimes, Frawley.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
