You forget. Ball send he did not want to come to MFC. Also he had a high price on his head. Did you ever think CC might have been foxing up until to the draft selections...even just a little bit.

No, I didn't forget. If Luke Ball wanted to come to the club he would not have nominated for the national draft and we would have taken him with pick one in the PSD. No doubt. If Ball spoke to us we would have asked him to do exactly that.

CC says we weren't interested. I think we were, it was Ball that wasn't interested. I don't think DB/CC and CS all commented on the club's want of Ball in the media for the sake of sponsors. Do you RR?

I tend to agree, if our interest was only initial and possibly vague.

Whilst I'm glad we didn't get him (especially at the price he was asking), I'll reserve judgement for when we move from "dry weather footy" to "wet weather footy." This usually happens at and just after ANZAC day until nearing finals time.

Who said anything about sponsors??:wacko:

Its all cat and mouse. The public comments were to generate some heat around Ball in case another club wanted him and were prepared to waste an early pick on him.

I dont know how you can say we were interested. 1 He refused to talk to us and 2 We did not have a medical on him.

Sure we want to speak to him. But when he had refused, we would have had rocks in our head contemplating him any further in the ND.

Apparently CC did, read SOD's post above.

I find it hard to believe that we showed so much interest purely so that another club would part with a early pick for Ball. Didn't think we were so cunning and influential on other club's decisions.

I believe we wanted him because there is a need for someone like him in the team and considering his body issues, it would've only been of any real worth if we could get him for free. But once it was clear he wasn't interested (as in not coming via pre season draft) and not even doing us the common courteousy of talking with us, all subsequent Ball talk was just keeping up impressions. There is an eliment of cunning here, but not as much as some think.

The tough on baller won his second Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Trophy in a narrow battle with skipper Max Gawn and Alex Neal-Bullen and battled on manfully in the face of a number of injury niggles. A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025.
