Bad Blues ban

Banned: Pin-up-boy Ryan Houlihan is not allowed back in Crown casino.

TWO Carlton stars have been banned by Crown casino after brawling with

hotel staff in another embarrassing blow to the football club.

The latest fiasco for Carlton came when Ryan Houlihan and Andrew Walker -

one of them dressed only in his underpants - emerged from a lift into

the Crown Promenade Hotel foyer early on Sunday.

That's what happens when you forget your towel.

They must be thanking their lucky stars that we sent them that sweet angelic Brocky to set an example of politeness and proper behaviour.

What is it with Footballers walking around Hotel Lobby's dressed only in Reg Grundys??

I have stayed in loads of hotels and never once had the urge to do that-why is it footy players do??

Carlton-what a great Club!!!!

Haha can you smell what the blues are cookin'?

Fev wasn't the only rotten egg by a long shot

Although I'm loathe to throw stones.

I have a lot of confidence in our boys at the moment, all seem like good kids, but its inevitable they'll slip up at some time...

Careful!

HaHa!! Always keep your towel Close-needed when jumping into HYPERSPACE.....I will never be rude to a Gin & Tonic again.....

In all honesty MFC supporters should be thanking our lucky stars that it is not our players involved. Its takes just one incident and ........

But you have to admit, this couldn't have happened to a more deserving club! ;)

Sure got me laughing at 6:30 this morning when i awoke to hear the news. Such a club Carlton.

At least 2/3 of their 16 Flags won under very dodgy circumstances!!!

who could forget Lance Angwin??

True.

A bit of storm in a teacup pre Xmas. In the range of naughty boy behaviours this has alot of hoopla.

10-11 flags under dodgy circumstances.... 45Hg16 was right. What a load of carp.

From 1965-1995 a Lot of Brown Paper Bags would have passed around Princes Park I have no doubt. George Harris & Elliott. I don't think it's crap at all

Prior to the salary cap was it really an issue? Proof???

1995 was a flag definitely purchased against the rules. The others --------------------------------> = Long Bow

WHile all this was going on who do you reckon was doing wheelies in the Crown Carpark in Andrew Walker's motor?

I can supply some proof. I have spoken to Blues players of that era who admitted it to me and have spoken to blues supporters who admitted filling the bags. Good enough?

Yes i went to the Carlton Social Club a number of times in the 80's, Mates of the Old Man invited us in.

Great Social Club don't get me wrong-But the paper bags were often filled! Carlton viewed it as their right!

Your word is your honour Redleg. Crikey!

Until the AFL had the salary cap the bags of money did not breach any AFL rules did they?

They might have attracted the attention of the Australian Tax Office.

Brocky what a wise decision, Reap it reap mate reap it !!!!

If I were a Blues fan I would be wondering at the moment about the coach Brett Ratten and captain Chris Judd. They're nowhere to be seen at a time when the club is releasing pithy statements about $5,000 fines and hiding their heads in the sand. I'd be wondering when are we going to see some leadership because if they're not visible making strong statements about the direction of the club now then where are they going to be when under pressure in the heat of the action?

In fact, Chris Judd has a habit about being around clubs that have this sort of culture... maybe behind scenes he isn't the great leader he is portrayed to be.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

Following an injury-interrupted start to the season, McVee struggled to maintain the standard he established in 2025 as he pursued an expanded role within the team structure. He remained a firm fan favourite and the club had hoped to negotiate a new contract with the former rookie selection from Western Australia, whose partner, Lily Johnson, plays for Melbourne's AFLW side. Those hopes were dashed when he expressed his desire to return to his home state and play for Fremantle. Like all players who have worn the red and blue and are leaving this year, we wish him well in the future.
