“It was on the back of his trialling, which encompassed not only the game sense related tuition but also physical and psychological profiling, that we were able to offer Seamus an international rookie position on our list.” Derek Hine

This guy looks good wish he had of approched the Dees. Picked up all aspects of the game while trailing at Collingwood for 14 days got extended to 21 days then given 2 yr contract.

Would have you been interested if he approched us?

He looks rubbish.

whoa...that workout is so out of context really to our game it can hardly give an indication as to he adeptness towards Aussie Rules.. it obviously got his foot in teh door at the Filth...he was able to keep extending his trial.. and hes got 2 years.

Rubbish ?? Probably not

keep in mind that was his "CV" tape...hes probably come a long ways from then..Seems quite adept at picking things up.

many many years ago.. 1983 to be precise.. I used to go have a kick in the park ( Regents, when I was bumming around London ) with an Irish guy I worked with.. now he couldnt bounce our ball to save his life... but he could mark and kick within a few weeks. Gee what a concept... an Irish guy playing Aussie Rules ... careful who or why you dismiss out of hand !! ;)

Completely agree with you, belzebub59, just because he's going to the pies doesn't mean you (deestroy) have to dish out crap to a bloke who's obviously got some talent. And it could open up another recruiting region.

This video shows that in just over a month of the original tape that he did go a long way and imagine now with the trial and contract, how his skills are.

I tell you what he doesnt have a bad kicking action at all. Looks better than many Irish converts who are a littel too used to the round ball. be interesting to watch his progress...even if he is fillth !!

again ..theres a whole country of them..

theres a few guys on our list hed put to shame..

For a yank hes worked out our ball pretty well!! Good luck to him .

PJ could do all that all that and more.

Good on him for having a crack i wish him well. He's a yank he doesn't know he should hate Collingwood.

He reminds me of Jake Spencer - but by the time Spencer is 24 he will be just as big and strong and whilst I'm never expecting him to have great skills I think he will be a step above Shae, plus he will be much better at reading the game, tap ruckwork and generally understanding footy.

Also I think this guy sent a video to all clubs.

Pass thanks.

Having said that, the team I play for had 2 American's do preseason with us this year, both started terribly, but with one of them in particular you could see the penny drop and he played a handful of games before he had to go back to the USA, and regularly made our best. We are far from AFL standard, but the bloke ran all day, and in straight lines (didn't take a side step regardless of the oncoming traffic!). His action was very similar to this Shae guy, sort of holds the ball on the point, a lot of his kicks were great, but his bad ones were exactly that!

what pisses me off is he and players alike have been given the spots on a list that should be occupied by aussie kids who have been working their arses off since they were a kid hoping that one day they will be given the oppurnity. i totally disagree with this appraoch that clubs are taking.

Dees = All Australian Heritage

PS: it not a racial thing as i would be happy to draft australian kids of all different nationalatys

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
