Burgoyne or Ball

IF both players can't get traded and nominated for the PSD (highly doubtful, but a bit of fun) who would we pick.

Burgoyne for me, as I think we have enough inside mids but it is tough as Ball would be around in five years

I would be happy with either via the psd (wouldn't give anything for Ball).

But would prefer Burgoyne, he's a match winner.

wouldn't mind Luke Ball in red and blue, would be a great player for MFC.

But with all the work MFC have put in to Burgoyne, that's who they would take out of the two.

I'd be happy with either.

i would say Ball becasue of his age, but its exactly what Mclean is.

Borgoyne is out of our age range but probably a better player

None of the above. Burgoyne is too old and is a huge injury risk. Ball is slow, although his toughness and ball winning are good. If I had to take one it would be Ball, but I'm not a big fan of either one coming to Melbourne.

Ball for mine, he is an absolute workhorse and supremely under-rated at St Kilda. Burgoyne on the other hand comes across as over-rated at Port Adelaide. I'd be happy with either but I'm more confident Ball would be the better option for a rejuvenated career at Melbourne.

Played a great Grand Final & was only on for half a game, Luke Ball in the PSD would be a Bargain, as a player & Teacher.

FFS he was Saints Captain & All Australian. Burgoyne's knee is on the way out.

Luke Ball hands Down.

Burgoyne as we all ready have similar players to Ball

i would still be happy with Ball though :)

Ball- he is under rated @ St.Kilda. Very happy if we got him in PSD, wouldnt trade a 1st round pick for him though as i think that rebuilding is more important. Remember that Ball was an All-Australian, club captain and was pick 2 in the '01 draft in front of Chris Judd, so he must have some kind of ability. ;)

Sounding like Burgoyne deal is done, so you may want to change the thread heading.

Burgoyne is done...lets turn to Luke Ball as the replacement for brock...i'm sure he'd be keen to screw over the saints...i heard somewhere he only got 40mins in the grand final or something stupid when he was up in the stats at one stage..

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
