Guess what in 13 weeks from today we will find out which way the club goes, we all can have an opinion some want a midfielder other a tall forward but we will not know until Thursday 26th Nov. Which ever way the club goes hopefully that player will be a star.

We will take Butcher. I would rather another mid but I think that the lure of a big forward will be too tempting to pass on. But really it shouldn't matter that much as we will get a good player no matter what we do.

We will take Trengove, he will become a certain 100 game player and is the best player available after scully. Taking butcher is too much of a gamble, and is not worth risking pick 2 on.

1. i don't

2. i don't

How do you know MFC will use pick 18, 34 and 50 on mid's?if they take Butcher.

Because, in that scenario, we will have Butcher, Watts, Jurrah, Bate, Green, as talls up forward;

we have Warnock, Frawley, Rivers, Garland (possible fwd ), Martin (possible fwd ) as KPPs down back;

We wouldn't take any other KPPs with those picks. We may well take a small defender, but we would certainly get at least 2 mids. They are the most important for depth

Correct....and whoever the club picks, they will be the best fit for our team. The football department will analyse the list meticulously over the next 3 months and they will be in the best position to decide whether we need a KPF, or a midfielder. However it ends up, I think that we are in safe hands and that we can sleep easy knowing that the club will pick the player we need the most. If it's Butcher, so be it. If it's Trengove or Morabito, so be it.

For what its worth, very little probably. Brayshaw and Lyon said it looks like the first 2 picks this year will be Scully and Trengove. Scully likened to Chris Judd and Trengove likened to Nathan Buckley.

If the get anywere near the level of those 2 our midfield will be top class for the next 10 years.

    UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

    Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
