I don't it's just what I think. I mean that's what we generally post isn't it? Our thoughts on all matters MFC. Jim was working pretty much fulltime on this club, I doubt Don has that kind of spare time. I'm in no way slighting his input or efforts thus far, or him for that matter. I just believe this club needs a really strong leader of the calibre of Stynes.

I'm not so why it's pathetic or defeatist to suggest this club hasn't had any luck, let's face it, it hasn't.

And quite clearly it is a farked thing to happen so shove your post right where it fits.

It was a completely unnecessary and pathetic post. You're making an ill-informed comment about a dedicated volunteer who's suddenly had a major task lumped on him. Have a bit of gratitude, as opposed to questioning the merits of him filling the breach in difficult and unforeseen circumstances. He was hand-picked and made vice president for a reason.

You then said "will this club have any luck again ?", which is different to saying "this club hasn't had any luck". Too subtle a difference for you ?

It doesn't mean I simply fall in behind them without questioning whether they are the right person for the job.

One of the things Jimmy mentioned at his press conference was that Don would be standing in as President but that he had also asked the whole board to take on more whilst he was away. So the Roosts comment about Don not being able to work full time at MFC is not valid. Don is more than capable of doing both jobs and the Stranga's sniping comment about the silver spooner board I suggest you have a look at the board and where and how they have come from to be part of the Board. These negative comments do no good. For goodness sake Don has been in the job for two days. Of course no one could fill Jimmy's shoes but we are not asking them to. All we want is the board to continue what Jimmy has started. He has put into place our future plan which is the basis from which we will grow. Jimmy's example, I think will only generate more support from those sitting on the membership periphery. Just think next year when he has won the battle and is back at the helm he will rejoin a Club that has continued on growing its support base and gained the respect of the rest of the AFL. Don't [censored] and brood Stranga and Roost because these comments you will obviously repeat outside this forum and it is at this time that we need to show a united front to the rest of the AFL world. There will be those who will be happy to see the Club revert back to how it use to be. Lets not give them that pleasure.

Unfortunately the "Anything is possible" motto cant be upheld without Jim at the helm. He had a passion that is unsurpassed by these other silver spooner board members who have other priorities in life. Stynes was able to get everyone to believe and was the driving force behind all the good work . I feel this is the beginning of the end.

Im not a spiritual person but we did enter some strange dimension of karma when Norm Smith got sacked, I believe that.

That is nonsense. Smith coached angry, and his time was up. Read Red Fox. We simply didn't recruit the cattle, and other clubs went past us. IMO Richmond now have inherited the Melbourne disease with cage-rattlers like Sheedy and Bartlett now upstaging the new guard. In contrast we have Stynes' as the unifying figure, whether or not he is still able to be the frontman.

Truly informative post, well done, did you even read it? All I basically stated that this club has had no luck and that I don't think we can fill Jimmy's shoes. Hardly sniping or bitching, just my opinion. I've not denigrated Don or said he's not a good man, just that I, as in me, don't think he'll be able to do the job Jimmy was doing. I'm happy to be wrong on that point but I'm not happy to have my posts labelled unnecessary and pathetic by posters who think they talk the gospel, because they clearly don't.

If you think the club's run of luck over the last 40 odd years has been terrific then good for you.

Its as simple as this; Jimmy has endorsed him and has asked us to get behind him. He believes that McLardy can do the job well. Jimmy is trying to embrace positivity. For the sake of the club and in line with Jimmy's wishes perhaps we all should.

Don was the man who got Jimmy back to the club and has worked his backside off since getting on the board, this information I got from Cameron Schwab, where do you get your information from? Perhaps uninformed guesses? Do you have any idea how much time he puts in?

You just shot your mouth off at the first opportunity and now you are trying to squirm out of it by saying it's all about the luck of the club.

This is about two people Jimmy and Don and not as you put it the luck of he club, our President is fighting for his life and all you are concerned about is, you.

I met Don McLardy and Peter Spargo the night before the St. Kilda game at a club function on the Gold Coast. The club's in good hands and this should be a comfort to Jimmy.

I met Don McLardy at AAMI stadium after the Port Adelaide game on Easter Sunday and he is a very impressive, genuine, intelligent man. He is devoted to the Demons and his wife, Clare, is right beside him. Jimmy considers Don to be his mentor and when we saw Don last night at an aftermatch function he was constantly answering his mobile phone calls from Jim. Jim has every faith in him and for good reason. Don cares about the club and he cares about the supporters and he always acknowledges and recognises you and me as a valuable member of a proud club.

Don does work full time but he has a great capacity for work and he is able to delegate tasks efficiently. Incidentally, Don was the person who approached me and asked me to establish the Casey Demons because he wants to spread our supporter base far and wide. Don had given me fantastic support with our upcoming breakfast launch.

Don McLardy will do a fine job, he would not be Jim's Vice President if he didn't have the same philosophy and passion for the club. Jim has handpicked some fantastic people for the board and for the management and we as members need to have faith in Jim's choosings.

More than anything we as a club need to work together to ensure the work the current board's efforts are not in vain, ie, keep buying memberships, keep going to games and keep supporting the board. Cam Schwab coming back after the appalling way he was treated by Gutnick was a massive feat, and between him and McLardy, I have full confidence that the club will continue going in the right direction.

Please don't look at Jim's illness to be defeatist and chuck in the towel, the club is too important than that and that would be the last think Jim would want happen. The board certainly aren't defeatist atm so neither should the members.

Don actually spoke at half time in the Redlegs Room yesterday and it was incredible the amount of support the Redlegs members were giving him. I hope it's across the board!
