Queens Birthday Game Day

Featured Replies

Too nervous.

Can't wait to get to the game today and see the boys run on! Should be a good day, weather looks to be holding fine, hoping for a crowd North of 70,000.

Dees by 17

Time is going so slow. I cannot wait for the game today, I have talked it up all week to everyone I know. Please all I want is a win today.

I know a lot of people have tipped melbourne as well

Well.... I have not been able to make it over for this match which is a bit devestating....

It is now 10am here in Adelaide and I am edgy as hell..... I can't wait for the big game this arvo.....

I am going to go for a quick kayak in the surf just to take my mind off things for a few hours.....

Go you Dees and good luck young fella.... No pressure eh?? :P

just got home from gym , in the tub , lunch at the waterside then to the G to watch Greeny and Robbo kick ten between them, yes that is realistic. Flash to carve them up across half back. yes Big Kev im excited. the filth is going to be made to understand the G is our homeground not theirs

Have not looked forward to a game like this in years! 70K plus crowd is not out of the question if there weather stays OK. A bit of sun would have been nice. I seriously think we can pull a win off today. We have shown for over a month that we can match the top teams for a half of footy or better! If we can play 3 great quarters of footy we will beat the pies. I know the players have been quoted in the press that they will treat it like any other game, but you know they won`t. This is our GF for the year and Malthouse knows it, just like he came out last year and almost bagged us for lifting so much against his ``blockbuster`` team!

Go Boys and Go Jack!

does anyone have the MELBOURNE version of 'They know we're coming' ? It was on demonland but cant find it. Want to put it on my facebook :D

bring it on! Women's game before QBD is in progress, one sided affair, 8.4 to no score. All warm from both the egg and bacon rolls from fed square. Watts is on the ground i think! Edit - yes it was Jack, he was out for a walk around the ground with Jones, no shots at goal, just a walk to relax the nerves. BIG HIT in the warm up watch, felt it from 10 rows back!

I also havent looked forward to a match so much....Today is finally here.... leaving now for the G listen to the radio on the way in and eat a pie nothing better... go Dees.....

No changes to either side. Jack is starting on the pine. Good decision - gives the crowd a better chance to welcome him to the game. Should be a fair roar when he comes on.

did i say freezing? A short shower just sent it to adelaide twilight game territory. Crowd building up nicely. Pre-game was a twenty goal win, to no score. I'm warm though, Cuddles gave me a cuddle! Top bloke, really is.

Before the game I was excited, but worried we'd push them and might get the 4 points, thereby putting us in danger of missing out on a PP... But this is far worse than any win.

Much better. Yes our skills let us down a little bit, but you cant expect to much more from a young side.

Mark Jamar - mark of the year nominee round 11. We're only 5 goals down and the odds are 25/1, wish i had online betting, i'd put 5 bucks on in a heartbeat!

EVeryone keeps saying young side. young side let them develop. there are a few oldies in the team you know who should be standing up in a big game like this im disgraced

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
