I recently moved from perth to brizzy and thought i would give the local support group ago after having a ball in perth with them.. I was very dissapointed to learn that they dont do anything and that rrepeated attempts have come up short..

in Perth i went to a pre match dinner the night before got to meet the coach and some players, them had a bonus of going to hold the banner out on the ground..I had a ball. There is some benefits to barracking for the non home team.. So after this kind of reception in perth i was really looking forward to atleast a after game meet and greet..

Isnt there anyone else in queensland this passionate???

I am converting banana benders from that sport where no one has a neck and it is kinda embarrasing that we dont even have a weekly place to watch the game. :(

I know this is totally a bit off topic but i i was going to post this mourning.

Regarding the game at the Gold Coast against the Sainters.

Does anyone know if we are going to have an after match function like we do at the Gabba?

Also any idea of accommodation we can stay 1 night in? 4 of us.

Thanks guys

In reply to your question you will find you have a number of very passionate supporters up here in brissy.

We have an after match function every year after the game at the gabba. Usually this is at the Pineapple Hotel and is a great night after the game! Its run by demondeb and you can join QLD demons through her.

There are all sort of things organise throughout the year and this year is good cause we get to go to 2 games.

One at the gabba

One at Carrara.

So hopefully that answers a few questions.

I love watching the games at home with a lot of friends, we kind of set it up like a stadium haha so its a personal thing but i am sure if you request it, demon deb will organise a place to watch a game all together

I'd like it if we could have designated places where Dees fans can go in any major city.

Even in Melbourne, it's hard to find a place where Dees fans can congregate and watch the match together. One inner city pub, and possibly one in the northern, Eastern, Southern and Western parts.

I started this thread with the hope of letting people know where they can watch the Dees play.

Yes DemonDeb certainly seems really passionate enough about this Surfa, just as you seem to be.

Hi Trent

Alas there is a lot of apathy here in Qld and most people seem to prefer to watch the games alone. I have tried numerous times to get groups together and failed miserably. The only time i seem to have a meeting of minds is on game day at the Gabba. So, on that note, I suggest there could be some people gathering at the Pineapple Hotel but not sure how many of them will be Demons fans.

If you are interested, we have a get together there on Friday 3rd April where we have the club's Qld recruiting officer coming along to talk about the club's recruiting strategies, the new recruits and also will answer questions.

Hope u can come along.

Deb

This was the response from deb and it didnt really sound too promising.. (not bagging Deb at all ) i just thought there might be something permanant on a week to week basis. Anyway if anyone is interested pm me and i will approach a few place that are central with good parking and try to get something going.

Surfa, asked the question on a another thread but we are coming up to watch the Dees at the Gabba. Before I book seats is there any specific area that Melbourne supporters will be. Don't want to sit with the enemy!

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
