An interesting assessment of Richmonds list, but more interestingly comparing it to ours and the different approach each team has made. I think they're being a little too kind to us, we've really gone down a path that we no choice with because our senior players were not up to it.

It's good to see that outsiders are beginning to believe though.

ONE of the AFL's leading draft experts has warned Richmond faces a long and painful rebuilding period at exactly the wrong time to be needing one. Neville Stibbard, the former North Melbourne recruiting boss, has delivered a damning assessment of the Tigers’ list, saying Melbourne’s playing group is further advanced and closer to a premiership.

I don`t think they are being kind to us, this is the real deal. We are closer than Richmond to the next premiership. The Tiges aren`t gonna win the granny this year. With Geelong as red hot as they were last night, they have no hope. At least we are getting some game time into our youngsters and showing good signs off the field and a bit on the field. I think we should all start believing, because in Australian rules anything can and does happen.

I'd hate to be a Richmond fan and read that. They really have drafted terribly over the past decade from what I can remember. A few good picks, but some have just been terrible. It's far too early to say if we've bettered them. We'll see in 3 years time.

Jordan McMahon pretty well sums up their drafting/recruiting for me

Interesting that White says it was a good long term move to cut the older blokes like himself. I realise it was for the best but still feel Melbourne treated White quite badly in the end. He rejected the big offer from Collingwood to stay true to Melbourne and we in return showed him no loyalty. Although he obviously sees the big picture that the club is bigger than the individual and has no hard feelings.

Towards the end of his career we paid him much more than he was worth. I'm not too sympathetic.

People are gonna believe that statement alot more because we just beat them.

White was on major coin. Its footy people, if we stay loyal to players too much you end up with drift wood, we just cleared some out last year.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
