That's a way better quality top 12 list then our B+F ranking top 12 list. Bell and Bartram are iffy, but for the rest i would say it is just about spot on.

Sylvia is a Top 10 Player if Colin Sylvia wants to be a Top 10 Player. He is yet to prove that worth at this Stage. As i said This coming season will bring us the answers 2009.

HFF who leads up the ground. Strong mark overhead. Very good at setting up teammates inside 50 (yes, 1st for Goal Assists last year, you beaut!). Also can kick a bag himself. I guess you could call him a 'Ryan O'keefe type player' who 'bleeds red and blue'.

Did he barrack for us as a kid, that's all that's missing. Hopefully he can become that player, IMO all he needs is to get his head straight. He seems to drift in and out of games and makes silly decisions, but with good coaching hopefully that can be eradicated. He was also first for bounces, that's right, Sylvia the flying midfielder.

Let's not let hyperbole get in the way of things, in 70 matches he's kicked 4 or more goals...once (4).

Well it depends what you would label a bag. I was referring more to the 3-4 goal range. He manged that in 3 out of his 18 games this year (Collingwood, Brisbane and Essendon). Overall hopefully he can become more consistent, play 22 games and kick around 35 goals + a year. That's what i see Sylvia doing in two years time, anyway.

Really? This is written like it is a fact:

Sylvia is a top 10 player for us. Simple.

It's wonderful Sylvia is in the top-ten for kicks and handballs etc. I wonder if he's also around the top-ten for games played in 2008.

Btw, it seems players like Garland or Warnock will never make the top 10 if that's your criteria and I think they both had better years than Sylvia. Fwiw, who are your top 10?

If Sylvia was drafted in the third round of the 2003 draft people would be calling him one of our best players. The fact that he was drafted at three and everyone put such hope on him to become our best player has left you all sour and disappointed. Time to take off the glasses.

Making comments like this shows an inability to see other people's point of view IMO.

I see Sylvia along the same lines as Hannabal:

Sylvia is just a player. He lacks footy nous and is yet to make a position his own. He's not a mids bootlace, not a KPP, and lacks the silk of half forward flankers.

45hotgood mentioned Sylvia's disposal efficiency was outside the top 20 for our team, and considering our skills last year that's certainly saying something.

PS. Another great performance today from Sylvia today.

EDIT: Haha, at least you acknowledged it (you wrote your above post while I was writing this one), well done on being a good sport Maybe he'll come out and kick a bag in round one...but I'm not holding my breath.
