Seeing Grimes and Watts standing together, smiling and in the thick of it all.

They look like there is no other place they would rather be.

There's your players who will lead us forward.

What are the teams they've got running?

Looks like Col Diggers - I imagine something to do with Col Sylvia?

Hank's Tanks - who's hank?

Creepin it Real - huh?

and it looks like another team without special tops...?

Hank is Col Sylvia, so it must be his group.

Col Diggers must be Garland in that case.

And 'Creepin it Real' is Beama's group. Its a play on a bunch of them in that group being facebook 'creeps' and he's the ringleader.

They all have random nicknames, its pretty funny.

These groups must've been created at least a month ago, cos they've been wearing those Creep shirts in photos for a while

i might be wrong but the guy in the picture looks like a "Coal digger" and they've spelt it "Col Diggers" probably because it is Sylvias team or something.

You're right except its Garland

There are four groups, with points awarded for tasks, time trials, cooking expertise etc.

I know Hanks Tanks include Sylvia (Hank), Bartram, Spencer & Davey

Apparently it is really motivating the boys, we all know what a little bit of competition can do....

I was really suprised to see this in todays paper. usually it would be the filth with a big glossy article and us with a little side note. Maybe the media is starting to see the change within MFC and rather then kicking us while we are down they are starting to see that we are now a club on the rise! Seeing a group developing as tight as this one seems to be is as good as a christmas pressie I could ask for. Momentum and confidence are by far the most important things. Every player on a list at an AFL club can play its just a matter of bringing it together, building momentum + confidence and exicuting a well developed game plan. So the 3rd part of this we should see soon enough!

I was also pleasantly surprised. Although The Filth also had a big picture of their new leadership group headed by Nick Maxwell their new captain. I think it was Redleg who posted earlier this week that the HUN look after the Pies. Redleg is right. Since the end of the season, the Pies have been in the HUN more than anyone else. Even after the draft, they were quick to display their picks including Sidebottom, etc. Then again earlier this week or weekend with their top 2 picks on leadership material. WIth a massive coloured pic.

I hope when the Dees announce they're new captain tomorrow, we get big time exposure in Saturday's papers....

With respect to the Age, our sponsor, Mfc should get more exposure. IMO, lately, there has been more articles on the Dees in the HUN than the Age - in particular with respect to our PSD and rookies. Although, I must say in all fairness, the day after the NDraft the Age did give us a decent run.

My sources tell me Team Creep consists of Beama, Bell, Juice Newton, Warnock, Meesen, Wheatley, Robbo, Bruce & PJ.

They even have a facebook group with 440 members!

I was kinda trying to let the guys keep a bit of privacy by not posting the link... but I guess if they put it in the public forum like that.

I'm guessing its like that so that they don't have to admin & approve every member, not meant for the general public.

Either way, its pretty funny, but also good to see the way the boys have really gotten into this thing. They're still a tight unit, 2 horrible seasons or not.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
