It seems a strange reaction to be 'confused and embarassed' regarding the financial predicament of the Melbourne Football Club.

I was expecting a revelation along the lines of you being caught with your pants down or something.

I was confused because i didnt exactly understand why we were asking for 2 mil and i was embarrassed after reading 40+ comments of other teams on the HUN site saying enough is enough

But the hun is purposely playing on the emotions of idiots who don't (care to) understand the full story.

According to the papers today we're asking the AFL for $2 million which should just about cover our operating loss for 2008 and fair enough given the aweful roster they hand out to us every year. I wouldn't hide the fact though - it's an important part of proper corporate governance that the stakeholders are aware of the true financial position (unlike some other clubs which transact their business through paper bags and cardboard boxes ).

Agree. Our past administrations were rightfully chastised for not disclosing our full financial position. I'd like to think that the success of the Debt Demolition would send a message to the board that if they're honest and upfront with the members, the members will respond in kind.

There is nothing to be gained in hiding our operating loss for the year, other than avoiding 24 hours of negative press.
