whoa

I went under the name Cpt Club back then. Wonder how i can find out how many posts i actually have and the date I actually joined.

I joined circa 04, it was a different forum to that one.

WOW. The past catches up with us all. Lively political discussion about the Szondy-Gutnick confrontation, a fair bit of personal abuse (where were the mods then?) and this gem from Deebest commenting on Spunjy's (now Axis of Bob) draft preview:-

Bartel is the biggest certainty to be going to Geelong. I perhaps wonder about Del Santo at nine (Melbourne's pick). The height thing - he might be too short considering we need key positions?

Well, history shows that we didn't take Del Santo at #9 but took Luke Molan instead and while D S might be criticised for a few aspects of his play, I don't think we should have worried about his height or lack thereof.

And just a little quiz - in the same draft, Melbourne selected a player who went on to play in a premiership team. Who was he?

Nah, it was that one. We moved straight from Aimoo (the setup in that snapshot) to this setup at the end of '05.

I joined Demonland and Demonology at the same time in 2003.

Just on the archive, checkout some of the 'political' threads there. Jeez Fan (then Deefan) was an agro bugger back then! :D

Takes me back to stinking hot days logging onto the old bucket of bolts that was the Pentium, checking out the latest from the Oracle. Good stuff.

(edit: oh! and i wish the Nick Gill article was archived!)

Great pick up Rusty.

Its a pity that when moved from Aimoo we lost the history archive there could be some real flashbacks and some embarrassing recalls.

Good salvage nevertheless.

Geez Anonymous was active back then.

Whoa..wow..some interesting avatar's etc back then.

edit: I take it Deefan is now Fan?

haha wat about thread someone stating ross funcke is a gun!!

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
