Wheatley a Swan (rumour only)

Featured Replies

if he goes to the swans, and plays like he did this year, he'll be ok for them. setting up play off half back with tadgh kennelly and goodes. but i'd rather a draft pick than have him play 2 okay years of footy then retire/delisted

Where would he fit into a side that contains Kennelly, Malceksi and Mattner though? Especially considering all 3 of those are well ahead of him as players

Sounds like a good deal to me. Wheatley is a good honest player, but not a great one. He only looked good this year as the team was so Bad. Eight years is long enough.

I wish him well if he leaves.

The day's meetings are over and if this was true it would have filtered back to the legitimate media. It's starting to smell like a hoax.

that's what i was thinking- what was the source apart from someone hearing it on SEN?

This was posted on Big Footy, so treat it with a grain of salt, but it's been suggested that Paul Wheatley was traded to the Swans for a 2nd round pick. Deal has been done in principle, but both clubs are waiting to attempt to upgrade the pick if possible through the O'Keefe deal.

I'd like to move half our older players on for draft picks this year please. :)

Good news if true.

Possibly trade any of Green, Miller, Wheatley, Jamar, Bell

Keep Bruce, McDonald and Whelan

I doubt this is true but if it is its a great deal for the MFC.

I was thinking more like, hoping to trade - Green, Bruce, Wheatley, Bell. (White for nicks)...

Keep - McDonald, Miller, Jamar and Whelan.

yeah miller is ok- thought he just may attract interest from team that needs a lead up forward- could get 3rd round pick. and why would we keep jamar if we're chasing warnock, seaby and reportedly interested in McIntosh. we have PJ and Spencer developing adn meesen clogging the list. get rid of jamar

Your right, but we need him, as a forward, & he's a real good leader, & a great example for the kids, courage, hard attitude 'n' all.

Their saying on 'onology', that the wheatley rumour is confirmed by Sydney fc, & SEN.

obviously SEN throws up a few 'fans' who want these deals to happen rather than rumours, but if sydney fc are on the record for being interested/we've approached them

Id keep Wheatley. Never beaten.

Id take Wheaters of any of them any day.

I would accept that deal! Wheatley for Pick 30. Would wish him well if true! Has grown up as a Demon since a tacker!

Would like to see CJ stay put. Green definitely has to go! Bell, Miller and sorry too say A. Davey if he can be packeged for Pick 4. Green and Davey for Pick 4.

We only can trade 5 players! So lets do it wisley and trade for the maximum.

Wasn't even discussed this trade according to Connolly.

Yeah but also take what Connolly is sayign with a grain of salt, no point upsetting the player if nothing comes of it.

We could use that pick 30 on Art Vanderlay if he lasts until then.

Wheatley for Vanderlay would be a good deal.

That was the deal forecast in the Pennski file. I am going off to get a black and white cookie and a cup of soup.

haha

what are they trying to convince other clubs that he is good by advertising him on the websight?

well, he has a bit of currency considering he had a good year this year??

cant believe jamar isnt getting traded now (or so i read somewhere)

hopefully we get something for davey, green, (altho he wont go if this davey bs is true), and wheatley and cj

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
