This is probably already been said but with the last year of picks before Gold coast ect come in we need to draft BIG.

We've seen it with the hawks and how they got rid of all there good players that wouldn’t be in the next premiership, and drafted all these guns. In 04 they had 4 picks inside the top 21!

The players like the Green’s and Bruce’s are some of my favourites but we don’t need them, so heres my plan.

Nearly all the players over 25 that will be worth something should be gone.

If we were to trade Green and Bruce to the same club we could easily get a top 10 pick.

We should give Macca the captaincy then when he’s gone McLean should be right.

I know every ones going to say we need some experience we need some old players but we don’t need all off them.

Trade right NOW and we will see the benefits in the coming years.

This is just my opinion so if you don’t like it or want to add to it, please do

Sorry to anyone who has written something along the lines of this, and sorry about the spelling.

Mods if need be merge this with something else, I wanted to start a topic just for Melbourne not hawks

agree with the trading but i reckon its unlikely that it will happen. draft picks are gonna be tough to trade for, considering this is the last real draft, but we can still draft in 09 as the gold coast come in 010. it sounds dodgy but i think we need to have another bad season next year and get the priority pick. Theres some good players like butcher, scully and may which we can hopefully pick up and than its on the way up in 010.

Just to let you know that next year is the last one before Gold Coast. They get the first picks in 2010

Actually the GC get a whole lot off access to a bunch of 17 year olds next year so it really does start after this draft.

Why did Gardiner vote for the 2 new Teams...Grr!! Thanks

Not quite right. GC get access to the first 12 under seventeen year olds next year.

In 2009, GC17 have the capicity to sign 12 players born from January to April 1992. This means that the 2010 draft is a real bust; the 2009 draft is still reasonably OK.
