How Good is this Kid? I have not seen him play. Bolting Home to watch Fremantle play is not high on my "to do" List. Never will be! Is He Really worth all the Fuss?

In the Australian, Warnock is quoted as repeating his preference for Carltank; and Carltank won't offer better than pick 24. Might go to PSD, and Carltank get him for 0. No way we can draft a player who doesn't want to be with us. Or could we? Just to be bastards. Carlton did it with Stevens to deny the Filth.<_<

Warnock would be ahppy to come to us, his brother is there and he'll be given the number 1 ruck job. so if he does fall trho to PSD, yes we will take him. and, freo could still like the sound of our pick 19 to get him

Of course we can. Plenty of players haven't ended up at their prefered destination when traded. There is no free agency in our game, players don't always get what they want

Like your thinking 'furious'. Given the chance, I hope we do it. ;)

He's not happy to come to us, according to a report in today's The Australian:

"Warnock's preference is not to join Melbourne, where a deal could have been clinched more easily as the Demons enter trade week next month with selections one and 17."

so if he does fall trho to PSD, yes we will take him.

If a trade isn't reached, Warnock may nominate for the national draft, rather than the PSD:

"It is understood Warnock has threatened to nominate for the national draft, which would leave the Dockers out in the cold without any compensation."

Good point.

Anyone know what the rules are for the ND? Can a player nominate his terms, unrestricted?

Which just goes to show that after everything that's happened in the world's capital markets over the past fortnight, $1.6m over 4 years > $1m over 3 years.

It's a nice bluff but I doubt he would do it if he wanted to go to Carlton - other clubs would take him first.

I'm sick of looking in this thread for news about Warnock. If there is more significant pieces of news can't we just start a new thread, instead of merging them all the time.

Everytime I go to Demonland (more often than I should) I see that the thread has been added to and I get all excited because I think there is some news, but alas it is just some tool complaining about something.

I second this motion!

Its quite silly...

...probably the reason it's his second option.

if he goes in the nd there is a good chance a club would pick him up with a late first or second round pick. consider the fact that most picks are speculative to some extent and warnock is a ruckman with a few years in the system and a few games under his belt. that means carlton would have to take him probably with their pick 20 or whatever they have, if someone hasn't got him first. they may as well just trade that to freo for the kid and at least everyone gets something out of it.

i wonder what freo are asking and what carlton are offering?

Posted

well if you ask me, he'd rather go to melbourne where his brother is..than run the risk of going through to the NAtional draft..where he could be taken by any club at any pick...carlton wouldnt get him at pick 6 because they'd want a kid..so then will he last? if a club needs/wants a ruckman.

he aint at carlton until the papers are signed

My first post on this board - and why not pop my cherry with a bit of news:

Richmond are now out of the running for departing Docker Robert Warnock.

Warnocks Perth based Manager (Colin Young) advised Richmond yesterday that they were off the Preferred list because they wouldn't come to the party with a 4th year on their offer to Robert.

This now leaves St. Kilda, Carlton and Melbourne to "seemingly" battle it out.

Who does this guy think he is, MFC pull out of the race, don't give a 4 year contract to potential, he has done nothing to date.

No, I think you should remain in the race if only to inflate the salary that Carlton have to pay. It pretty obvious that his manager is using the other clubs as a leverage to boost Warnock's salary.

oh ffs can we just all get over this bloke! seriously the way he is carrying on he thinks he is jesus crist! let him go to the filth! money hungry twiit!!

I am a bit over him Dazzle, but I still want to make Carlton bleed out the ying yang. If we happen to get him offering Freo a bit more and Warnock a bit less than Carlton That'll be ok with me, but if they get him I want them in salary cap trouble.

Congratulations to CAC for finally learning from past mistakes.

haha not sure CAC has learnt anything.

Looks like it was Warnock's decision, not Richmond's

I must admit, Warnock's management really do seem to be quite arrogant..

He is certainly being over valued at this stage..

I mean, yes, he looks a good prospect, but does have some level of risk, it all seems a bit too self provacting to me..

that's what people have to realise

its not warnock at the moment saying i only want to go to carlton- its his management doing all the talking, robbie is probably on holiday and has left it up to the management.

david armitage for pick 19 is what i've heard if the club dont use 19 on warnock or any other trade

If anyone offers this bloke 4 yr, they bloody better have a get out of jail clause.

Especially us. 4yrs for what is basically a rooky is bullsh*t. And big $'s. Crazy.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
