I am starting a new thread to discuss the joy of winning a thriller against a Top 8 side.....

Bloody hell I am proud of the boys out there today!

That mark Miller took in the square sent a shiver up my spine! A big forward taking a big mark to win the game! What a weapon!

I thought he played a really important role today..... His leadership qualities are starting to shine through....

Oh yeah. I was jumping around like a jackrabbit, only two minutes after moping around like oscar the grouch. Amazing stuff.

How good was Miller. Absolutely relishing the responsibility of playing as the main man up forward, he was sensational today.

Green was generally brilliant down back as well.

Buckley also a major highlight, and it was excellent to see him work hard both ways.

I thought one of the more positive things to come out of today's win (damn that feels good to say win) was CJ's game!

He may have finally turned the corner..... I remember from speaking to his old man a few seasons back, that he is very much a confidence player and he was worried he wouldn't be good enough to play AFL..... Hopefully he has turned the corner....

How good were his two big tackles at the end of the thrid qtr...i think

It was good to see his teammates congratulate him on his efforts

I must admit, I was hoping to have a nice honorable loss today as I am really really hoping we get the benefit of coming last. I honestly did not expect us to even come close.

But in the last 10 minutes I was over losing and certainly there were a lot of jumping around like a psycho and screaming.

Jimmy came to sit in the aisle next to us with 10 minutes or so to go, and brought Aussie's dad with him. After Miller's goal, when the ball went down to Brisbane's 50, I looked over at Jimmy and we both had a look of resignation on our face. Typical that we end up losing in the last 30 seconds...

Fast forward a bit and Aussie is running forward and literally the whole stand is yelling "15 seconds, 15 seconds" and jumping up and down.

It's such a small and meaningless victory in the big scheme of things, but games like today's is what football is all about. What a great feeling it was sharing some joy with other equally-miserable Melbourne fans.

Can't wait for the replay on Fox :D

I was proud of the passion and determination. The guys have worked very hard the last month for little return and I really feared they would fall short again but they got the reward they deserved.

These wins are even better with a week off – can enjoy it for 2 weeks – not just 1!

ah yes forgot about the week off. no doubt the boys will be having a few very quiet beers tonight!

Let's hope we don't read about it in the papers tomorrow

So good to get a win and not be robbed again, as soon as the umpires gifted that free kick to Bradshaw, I thought that was it, so it was great to see the boys put in and get those two goals to win it. It was pure elation when wonna ran from the half-back line at the 35 minute mark, we knew we had the game won. Bloody awesome.

Must say, the umpiring today was absolutely deplorable. Incidentally did anyone think Bradshaws snap in the first or second quarter that was ruled out of bounds was actually a point? Could be a point of controversy!

But who cares, we won and we thoroughly deserved it. Go the mighty Dees!!

I too would have been quite content to go down by 2 goals aftera 4 quarter effort. With about 4 minutes to go after Brisbane had quicked a couple of quick ones to get in front you would almost expect the guys to drop their heads! It wasnt just a great win , it was the way they won it. Shame the membership drive is finished because efforts like this will bring the fence sitters jumping back on the wagon!

What the hell is going on at demonland? I know we're all a bunch of horny teenagers, but....

I was sitting in the third row, looking at the same angle as Wonna when he sprayed that ball and put it out on the full... I thought that was it!

I had NO idea there was another 3 or so minutes left.

Brisbane would not have deserved that victory. Radio comentators saying that errors cost the lions the game BUT we played better footy & PRESSURED them into making those critical errors. We cant seem to earn repsect from anyone.

Decisions by the umpires gifting them a couple of goals would have been criminal if we had lost by less than a goal.

Good experience for the young ones in the side.

:) Proud of the boys today. Nice win even if it was 1 point. Better than a draw or a narrow loss

Finally standing up

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round.
