You would think buddy would have more, but ablett will win it.

There was a group who do footy stats or somethign like that and they predicted last years winner within one vote and they had something very similar, Ablett with 23, they spoke about it on foxtel.

Yes, I heard a bloke being interviewed on SEN today, might be the same guy because he spoke about last years stats too....they have Ablett on 23 and Cooney on 18.

I agree but Ablett has been pretty much BOG in every match, and there are at least 5 where he should defiantly get 3, so there is 15 with 8 games spare, if he score 1 in each of those or a 2 in some of those he could easily make 23.

Bartel has not been as good this year, corey has been but is not as prominent in the umps mind, I would not be surprised if Ablett wins it with a record amount of votes.

You would think Aussie is a chance to poll most votes for Melbourne in the Brownlow, having probably scoring 3 votes for his game against Freo in the sides only win!

Does anyone have a list of the best players for melbourne in that game?

I've been doing my own Brownlow and here is my top 12

As you can see if MY votes continue there are going to be some records set.

Cooney - 21 -

Ablett - 20

Goodes - 15

K.Cornes - 14

Franklin - 13

Richardson - 13

Corey - 13

Harvey - 13

Judd - 12

Thompson - 12

Akermanis - 12

Out of the Melbourne votes i have given

Mclean - 5 ( 1 in round 3, 2 in round 9, 2 in round 11)

Green - 2 ( round 5)

Miller - 2 ( round 7)

Bruce - 2 ( 1 in Round 7 and 1 in round 12)

Jones - 1 ( Round 6)

Bate - 1 ( Round 9)

Out of interest, how many players usual pole votes each year? I have given 136 players at least 1 vote.

Thanks Robbo24, thats very interesting, I think your spot on with the records being set. Keep going and let us know what count you end up with after each week or so....

The total players vary from year to year but 136 is not out of the question at this stage. I'd imagine the likes of hawthorn and Sydney and Bulldogs would have at least 13-14 players each who have polled votes. So there is 40-42 out of just 3 clubs.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
