Bartram - provided more run

Bate - little when needed

Bode - little to commend

Bruce - gave great leadership

Davey - not enough input

Dunn - needed to impose

Frawley - too easily outmuscled

Garland - a superlative performance

Green - a consistent performance

C. Johnson - gave regular drive

P. Johnson - continues to impress

Jones - struggled to escape

McDonald - not a defender

McLean - arguably equal best

Miller - made an impression

Morton - some crucial errors

Sylvia - had little input

Warnock - too easily outpointed

Wheatley - an outstanding performance

White - little beyond tapouts

Yze - not a liability

Wonaeamirri - had little influence

Why Bradley Green isn't the captain of the MFC I will never know.

He went in so hard, so consistently. Extremely impressive.

Yze was surprisingly good, even at clearances.

Joeboy your comments this week are spot on IMO.

Bartram: 6

Bate: 4

Bode: 3

Bruce: 6.5 (Grrr at the missed goal!)

Davey: 4

Dunn: 5.5

Frawley: 1

Garland: 8

Green: 7.5 (Great leader)

C. Johnson: 6

P. Johnson: 7

Jones: 6

McDonald: 5

McLean: 8

Miller: 7.5

Morton: 0 (Match turning performance)

Sylvia: 4.5

Warnock: 6.5

Wheatley: 8.5

White: 3

Yze: 3.5

Wonaeamirri: 3

Edit: Just want to say the crowd was a disgrace. About 100 in the cheer squad, and about another 900 scattered around the ground, versus 26,000 Tigers supporters....

Timing of the game is terrible for people with families and fathers that have to get up very early in the morning. That's why I wasn't there but make up for it by travelling to Canberra next week

It is the worst time slot of them all. Also, why are 2 MCG tenants playing at Telstra Dome?

Pandering to Collingwood again. I know they got 80,000 but it's still the Tigers home.

It's such a sad state of affairs but as I have mentioned before, Green is apparently verrrrrrrry quiet around the club and thus would not be the most effective leader. So frusturating as he, week in week out, is so courageous (how about some of those marks?! ) and is so skilled.

Davey is definitely not 100% (in spite of that terrific goal and mark). Saw him grabbing at his hamstring quite a few times but when the trainers tried to get him off he wouldn't budge.

What's up with Bate.. . :wacko::unsure:

Where my concern currently lies. I really rate Bate, but am starting to wonder. Seems lost out there.

2 weeks ago everyone was hailing how good he was and that he was the future of the club.

Players have off days every now and then, get over it

Not everyone. He's an ok player however I doubt that he'll ever get anywhere near the elite level

Watched him a lot and noticed that he frequently didn't chase but still tried hard when the ball was close.

Definitely not 100%.

Wheatley - an outstanding performance

Didn't rate Wheatley's game that high today.

Coughed up the ball way too much by foot. Did he even hit a target inside 50?

Wheatley int he second half was great, first half ok.

Green was super hard and threw his body in everything, really showing and leading from the front this year

Yeah Wheats has had better games. Still played well though.

Was pleased to see Bruce back to his classy best today (barring one horrible floater).

Green should be captain. Absolutely.

Bate - yeah very slow and cannot move off the straight line.

Garland was fantastic.

Thought you were a bit harsh on these blokes.

Thank you!

Glad someone else saw his errors today.

Yes he had some good pick ups and his pace was especially important on the wing, but he just bombs the ball with no purpose and turns it over. Was costly today.

Green and McLean are the standout leaders of this club. Both put their bodies on the line and lead from the front.

I just wish they'd leave Green in one position and let him dominate. Being thrown all around the ground must be frustrating.

Not everyone. He's an ok player however I doubt that he'll ever get anywhere near the elite level

Bate wasn't too bad today at all imo.

I think he definitely has the capability of becoming elite. He has played 4-5 games this season already where he has played at an elite level. Last year he did it regularly. if he learns to do it every week, he will be considered a star

and i must say, i thought Sylvia was very good in quater 1,3 and 4.

He is a good player. he is unfairly maligned, and is improving week by week.

i think his improvement should be recognised because he has become a good and solid player each week now.

he has the attributes to be a star- Strong, good kick, good mark, good tackler. he can translate that into more consistent performances and i'll be exstatic

Wheatley - an outstanding performance

Maybe i'm a loner in this but i thought that while he got plenty of the ball and showed great run off the backline, his disposal was at times almost as bad as Morton today. Too many times he would just bomb it into the forward 50, not even looking to see what our odds were in there. The ball would be turned over and goal up the other end to the toigs.

I'm not blaming him for us losing today, in fact he probably was up there with our best, but a senior player such as him needs to show more poise and thought before just bombing away. Moloney used to do that, i noticed this year he did more shorter kicks and he looked a lot better.

Just my two cents.

That there is the problem, once he starts getting better he will get more attention from the opposition.

I think he does have potential, but as a elite midfielder must deal with the extra attention of a tagger, so must a decent forward deal with the extra attention, and I think that is the true mark of an elite footballer.

Don't tell jikajika.

Bartram - rookie season rewind

Bate - good in patches

Bode - solid down back

Bruce - finally disposed efficiently

Davey - some fleeting cameos

Dunn - starting to settle

Frawley - not his uncle

Garland - caused penile movement

Green - magnificent form again

C. Johnson - actually showed something

P. Johnson - impressive 200cm rover

Jones - decent Jones game

McDonald - lost down back

McLean - fine season continues

Miller - surprised with kicking

Morton - wasted many posessions

Sylvia - continues improved form

Warnock - commendable despite opponent

Wheatley - dominated through middle

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
