  1. I had my legs firmly crossed for most of the last. Shouldn't have had that 3/4 time pick me up. True though getting dissed by supporters who's team has won half a game out of 11 is a [censored]?
  2. That is up to the coach? Minimum 5 changes this week after that insipid performance. Brought shame to the jumper.
  3. Danners post match comments Make of it what you will. At least I can imagine the language used on the players was appropriate but ND must step up now and wield the axe on some of these egos or his words are empty. Our season is over even "mathematically" now so lets not kept serving up the same.
  4. Good spin Toad. Every snow loaded cloud has a silver lining. Seriously though our lack of hardness in certain games (those against poorly performing sides) is doing my head in. Is it that hard to maintain a peak level of intensity for 2 hours out of 168 a week? Then again I have never played AFL so WTF would I know??
  5. Correct. With all our best mids except TJ & Moloney playing getting smashed in the clearances was the worst aspect of the first half.
  6. I'll accept that KW to a point. Perhaps it is the predictability of the Neitz/Yze swap that has us cursing now, however as the game unfolded it was evident we had no viable tall target up forward. Having said that if Newton had kicked as many goals as Dutchy in that score we all would have thought he was the Mesiah.
  7. Players (plural) must also go then. As bad as our structure was from the opening bounce (Pickett and Jones on the bench = no hardness at the man & ball) the on field effort or lack thereof was dished up by a bunch of players far more experienced than their opponents. I am gutted.....I just want this season to be over because I can't do jack about it sitting in the stands. I stayed till the end but dragging myself out each week for more of that will be torture.
  8. Two more wins against credible opposition and the media will have us and ND dancing off into the sunset hand in hand again RR. As angry as I am tonight I don't want a happy ending. It should be crystal clear to more than just us punters that change at the top is essential.
  9. I remember that one clearly and it was at a time when we hadn't beaten the Dogs for abouth 5 or 6 straight so I probably went home and kicked the cat that night. One of my best and worst personal reactions was a physical altercation with a Hawks fan who broke past a bunch of Melbourne supporters standing next to the players race in the old Olympic Stand after a close loss. This bloke reached over the fence and started waving one of those big inflatable fingers at our blokes. Without even thinking myself and the bloke next to me (who I didn't know) grabbed the bloke and threw him back at which point he started apologising profusely. It was probably the point where I realised I wouldn't put up with any more crap from opposition supporters and therefore haven't since though I try to avoid getting physical. I am learning to hate hearing Ross Lyons reaction to any match. As the coach of an AFL team you think the bloke would have some ability to engage people but he puts me to sleep. On the other hand I loved Gary Ayres two fingered salute to the Geelong supporters a few years back.
  10. We wasted a great deal of games at the G in the first half of the year, no doubt. On the bright side our financials in two home games in Canberra and Brisbane are secure, although I am still upset that we are playing Sydney at Manuka when our games against them have always drawn respectable crowds.
  11. Take out the booing of the umps (mainly by stunned Collingwood fans) and football was the winner!
  12. Since we last played Collingwood in a GF we have both won one each!! They wouldn't want to do some research on their record aaginst Melbourne in finals, we have demoralised them many more times than they have us.
  13. Yeh, well done but this was against the Richmond reserves and as others have intimated I don't see why anyone should give way at this time unless he is banging down the door.
  14. Exactly why we need our own venue for these after games functions, would you agree? The prices were no worse than MCG prices. Do you think we get use of the venue gratis or do you think the club should go into hock to put on these events? Agree however that spirits should have been available. I was just thankful to have the opportunity to celebrate a win with fellow supporters.
  15. Loved the smug look on Robbos' face after the siren went, the Collingwood supporters near the fence went off tee. He juts walked back and slotted it..... Salt in the wound, lemon juice on the paper cut, euphoria for Melbourne supporters.
  16. The only thing better than beating Collingwood once...beating them twice! Collingwood has the form so we will be underdogs for the first time in a few years but I reckon we will be capable of giving them more than a few headaches with the team and effort we had yesterday.
  17. There was post match question about whether he was feeling a bit nervous in the last quarter with some rythming slang about the potential for leakage to which Greeny answered "there was tightening of the sphincter" (that's how I heard it anyway) was very funny.
  18. Mate. wash ya mouth out. Hope your in church today to ask for forgiveness? Love the trumpeter though. Unfortunately apart from not wanting us on the MCG the idiots who run it also don't want us to build atmopshere like that so they played Chumba Wamba through the loudspeakers over the top his piece.
  19. Quoted your whole post Jaded because I loved it and I heard you stick it up BT, well done. Next time you get to speak to him perhaps ask him about my memories of his football career. If he really wants to unsult Melbourne supporters as a whole then we shouldn't balk at getting personal. Career of BT from diesels footy almanac: Fat & slow one dimensional Under 18 forward at Richmond who was NEVER going to get into the side with Roach at FF. Went over to Collingwood who were a complete rabble throughout the 1980's until the year after BT retired when they coincidentally went on to win a flag. Go figure! Gone on to have a career as a football commentator and most easily recognised for being loud. Its been great for BT that he has gone on to have a more substantial career off field, employed by former teammate Gary Pert at MMM and no doubt given a leg up by McChins at 9. Go DEES!
  20. I share your curiosity and we know many are asking the same questions but to be fair, I think some of the answers you are seeking probably aren't for public consumption.
  21. Do you think we would be getting preference over Freo to train at Subiaco even though we only play there once or twice a year and they play there every second week? The problem is as the original MCC tennant and tied historically thereto we are unable to strike a deal with stadia like every other club in the AFL. We are being done over both ways. That's plenty to be unhappy about so don't be dismissive.
  22. After turning up last time as a possible water boy for Rollo only to play the full match I feel I could go again, but only standing in a pocket. The speed of some of the blokes playing for saintsational was frightening and my calves were still on life support a week later.

    Bizzell

They have played similar roles across HB but have obviously played together in 2005. I'm fine with having them both in but Rivers is an automatic selection and has more footy in front of him. That's where I'm coming from. If we could leave out Ward and/or Brown for Bizz and Wheels, that would be ideal.
  24. Mate, you shold set up a pole (if you know how to). But how come you are not on this list but are on the lsit at 'ology?
