You don't have to believe it because all footy forums thrive on rumour and inuendo. And what is the relevance of how or or how much the MFC has spoken to Voss or any other canididate compared to Carlton, Essendon or Freo. The break we had on these teams was made meaningless as soon as one more started looking for a coach. Were we to appoint Voss in the two weeks after Danners left? Voss has indicated he still isn't sure if he would like to coach (yes, even AFTER speaking to Carlton who these rumour filled boards would have you believe he had already signed with last week). He also has said he considered what a club can offer him in terms of facilities and FD help would be more important than the list. Based on that alone he won't be putting his hand up enthusiastically for the Melbourne job. People who want to use the manner in which the club is going about getting a new coach as a pretext to criticise it should Voss go elsewhere need to look at the bigger picture.

I don't care which 22 are playing you cannot treat the supporters like idoits. The lack of care for the coach and staff of the club as well as the Jumper and particularly the supporters is a disgrace.

Is Holland the most unfairly maligned player of all time?
diesel replied to joeboy's topic in Melbourne Demons
That is probably the reason I like him. He comes in does a job, rarely gets beaten badly and goes out again. Seems to cope well with his lot and recognises his limitations (bit like that other punching bag, Godders). -
Funny you should mention that. Their spat related to Walls' crticism of Sheedy that he had had soft ride in terms of his coaching career being at a stable and financial club and lacked the experience of having to coach at a bottom of the ladder struggler such as Walls did at Brisbane. In the context of stuffing it right back up Wallsy the MFC would provide a perfect fit for Sheeds?
-
Gabriel Szondy? Personally I would 100% welcome Kevin Sheedy at the MFC in any capacity. That may sound irrational but in the context of a club which needs to redefine itself in an aniversary year then he is definitely worth considering if not as a senior coach then as a mentor or Football Dept Manager. Get Him!
-
Far as I know he is half only way through a five year contract, possibly the last coach to ever get such generous terms. IMO over rated because of a documentary and a few memorable wins.

Looks like the Juicemeister has an admirer in that photo, his reputation is growing
-
So does Doug Hawkins who said he has pt $4000 on it at about $4. Doug the mug

I think the rumours are wishful thinking of Carlton supporters who are becoming desperate to get in the coaching merry-go-round with Melbourne and Freo.
-
Now there's another problem altogether.

Never happy about losing but I walked away thinking the right team had won. Saw a Roos supporter friend on the way out and he looked like he had seen a ghost and hadn't enjoyed the win at all. It would be nice to give them a similar scare this week.
-
The reason if they did would need to be compelling. a hunch or you know this because?

Was actually BB making the comparison Jaded and I don't for one minute believe what Brock did was anywhere near as bad as what Aaron did. Just outlining what I think our expectations should be in relation to discipline and my personal response in a big game we were about to win as opposed to a match I could already see we were going to loose. Stupid topic really. We would all prefer the players take out their frustrations on the leather and their opponents in a LEGAL manner.

You make some good points Grazman but as you allude to the responsibilty for any defficiencies in the Freo list rest fair and square with Chris and his FD which would be one the best resourced in the competition. How would he fair on Melbournes' shoe string budget? No doubt he has been let down by some players but IMO really good coaches demand success (Malthouse). One other point worth considering is the risk factor. Many people are quick to put a negative against Voss' name but I would argue there is considerable risk in appointing a coach who has failed once already. It could be a mind numbing experience for the supporters of the club to see another coach who presents well, can have a laugh and carry himself magnificently well but delivers wildly unpredictable on field results. That probably sums up why I posted in support of this thread long before CC pulled the pin.

Exactly. That is why they framed Connolly as favourite straight away. They are trying to draw in all the mugs same as they did last year with Longmire > StKilda and I would say the mugs will keep coming while footy media twats keep spruiking Connollys' name because they are too lazy to actually put any thought into it or discuss the issue in a logical manner. Connolly is the one candidate in the book with "form" and it's no better than Danners.
-
I'm not. If the club sticks to its process then I can't see Connolly getting the job. He is too similar to Danners and has similar runs on the board BUT with a staff of 75 behind him and an apparently top 4 list (the concensus on Melbournes list has been that it isn't as good as Freos). How is he going to get more from Melbournes list. He has also had 6 years to build Freos list so if it is now submitted that there are defficiencies then he is responsible for this also. His inability to turn around characters like Farmer and Tarrant is also a concern. Incidentally I think Wiz was a better player under Danners than Connolly.

When Brock threw the ball away in the Collingwood game I was ropeable, more so than I was Saturday after Davey's effort on Selwood I suppose because I know our season is over and Aaron is repeat silly offender. However I imagine as Brock is now leading the chorus against these stupid acts he has got the message and I trust Aaron will also. Our expectations of all players in this regard should be the same.
-
I have to keep reminding myself of this!! Who does Brisbane have out? I can't think!! Frawley doing a good job again. Looks like Danners faith was well placed.
-
If it so easy then why do you suggest he struggles? In all honestly he really only struggles with his kicking. Having played in Canada I can tell you that you will find blokes with good physical attributes who can get the ball but they are about as skillful with it as I was on pair of skates with a stick in my hand. I think you underestimating this aspect of the sport.

Does anybody care about the Carlton result on Sunday?
diesel replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm well and truely over this season. Watching for the future now. Always want us to win but care more about the effort. See above (will take the draft pick if we get it but would NEVER want to loose) Always upset if we loose. Will decide 1 hour before if I go. 32000 -
Your a champ DA. Hope you can give us a wrap, goalkickers and best at the end (no pressure).
