  1. So the clean athletes will suffer. I have a friend who supports the Blues (yes I know ). He remembers them giving Essendon hell on two occasions in 2011 only to find when they played them the following year the Bombers had all put on bulk and weight far beyond what would normally be expected by a clean programme involving weights only. That's 2012. The players didn't know the drugs on the waiver form were making them bigger than everyone else and they were all so very innocent?
  2. Thanks & in view of the fact that you've been posting ad nauseum misrepresenting everyone else's point of view, I thought it would be an excellent return of favour.
  3. So you think Lees was a dill to do what he did but you have sympathy for the Essendon players who signed waivers and subjected themselves to a programme of drugs which a simple google search would have disclosed contained human growth hormones and other dodgy stuff? The mind fairly boggles.
  4. The Riddells Creek Football Club is resisting pressure from the AFL to stop Stephen Dank speaking at its launch later this month. The AFL also threatened to fine the club if it allowed Dank to speak but president Jason Allen is standing firm. Stephen Dank finds new path in sport
  5. Started on the interchange but never really got into the game and didn't appear to have a role to play. His leaving us at this time might well turn out to be a bad career move for him.
  6. I would put up with that (perhaps misdemeanours instead of crimes) to beat Collingwood in a final like Port did last year.
  7. Were either of them at last night's game? I would have given them a spray if I had the chance.
  8. You get a like from me but I suggest you do a spell check on this lest you incur the wrath of one of our more uppity posters -
  9. I watched tonight's game and it was of quite a good standard for a first hit out although by the end there were mistakes due to players tiring. I loved the finish because it really demonstrated why its a better game than the soccer where you get bored watching the grass grow.
  10. My mail is that Clark did his hammy about a week or so ago and that it's the third time since just before Xmas. As alluded to above its a by product of recovering from a long period of passivity similar to what Matty Richardson went through when he was coming back from the same injury. It's a bit of a worry but the good news is that it can be overcome and also that it's not the old foot injury that is the ailment.
  11. Then don't smoke them. In the meantime, I would be delighted if someone could grant your wish and make sure you disappear from this "joint".
  12. He's just being grateful to Melbourne which helped get him the coaching job at St. Kilda after humiliating Malcolm Blight one night at Etihad.
  13. No Montagna (one of their two elites) in this game either. He's out suspended.
  14. Understood but he's still entitled to express his opinion as a Melbourne person irrespective of whether or not you think his involvement with the club was a "complete disaster" or otherwise. BTW in the recent history of the club he's not on his Pat Malone as far as being involved with disasters are concerned. Do we write them all off from ever having an opinion about the club again in their lives?
  15. Really and truly. What would Lyon know and what on earth gives him any legitimacy to speak on anything to do with Melbourne? He only played 226 games for the club, was captain for seven years, is a dual Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Medallist, was leading goal kicker twice, an All-Australian three times, played state of origin for Victoria, coached International Rules and is a media personality, featuring on television, radio and in newspapers. On the other hand, us keyboard heroes have the credentials to say whatever we like on any subject under the sun and to do so with impeccable authority.
  16. Thrilled with the news. A great achievement by PJ and the Board. Well done.
  17. None of us knows the precise facts about what Dank's role was or what JT took or didn't take so why speculate?
  18. The idea of a 6 month ban seems somehow repugnant to me. Presumably it would be served between October and March meaning only NAB Cup games and perhaps round 1 lost. That's no suspension at all.
  19. No need to be baffled really. In case you haven't noticed there is a battle looming for power and control at the top of the club. It's in the interests of some to take advantage of what's happened and even magnify the faults of others to score points and support so they can win that battle.
  20. I suppose in light of the allegations made about the past couple of coaching appointments we've made, all candidates will have to submit to some form of psychological testing in the future but what do these tests really tell you? Surely, if someone's clever enough, these tests could be manipulated? Then there's the question of how you approach the subject. Imagine telling a seasoned, experienced coach like Roos or Sheedy that you wanted them to submit to that sort of testing as part of the selection process. I'm sure Carlton didn't do that with Malthouse. Perhaps we just have to accept the fact that all coaches are nut cases.
  21. Sorry but as I haven't been keeping up with the details of the allegations, exactly what is it that JT's been alleged to have done and what is the evidence?
  22. WJ tried that and was bagged by some [censored] who claimed he was trying to shut down debate. Go figure!
  23. Dead set certs now that we've made changes at the top. Not just for the win this week but the flag. Will firm if more off field heads roll.
  24. Given the number of tackles they actually did lay on their opposition last Saturday night, I think an increase to 5 tackles might be a little hard on some of our princesses. I'll settle for 2 or 3.
