  1. Did Collingwood ship out Grundy under Buckley or McRae out of interest?
  2. Thanks. Does the club have a clue as to who the leaker is?
  3. He also wrote we may go with an untried coach as well - which covers every possible option. Pointless post from a pointless journo.
  4. I'm certainly not saying he is the right candidate and I'm well aware that 99% of readers on this site believe MFC/AFL takes precedence over everything. Just not sure if he dumped this world conference at this late stage, how good a look it would have been. Maybe that's back on the board for agreeing to it. Either way Duffy is suggesting he's on holiday so who knows WTF's going on.
  5. I don't get it. He's always maintained he's there until Smith takes over and that he doesn't have the time for the role. What's he taking exception to? The word 'interim'?
  6. What's happened there Jnr? I was sure he recently had at least top 5 finish in their B 'n F. McQualter not a fan? He must be coming to the end of his contract too.
  7. I used to think that too, but in the media jostling and scrabbling for AFL headlines, she's slipped. Had she done her research, she would have known Conca has been a runner since he started at the club (replacing Burns in the same role). Perhaps she could have also mentioned that Guerra's prior commitment to organising a world conference actually might be significant and that to ditch that for his new role might also be showing a lack of leadership. Green has always maintained he is President for the short term and that it is particularly difficult juggling that with a young family and a business. If Green was 'bristling,' I doubt it was about that. Other than that, I agree with the leadership questions but good journos deal in facts rather than framing to suit their narrative.
  8. Agree. The whole team should then be made to watch the last quarter again as a group. I'd feel a bit better if the main culprits in cruise mode were then omitted. I'm not interested in giving these players an opportunity to respond. We've seen it happen time and time again eg. first quarter against the Suns.
  9. Snatched a loss Midfield are plodders
  10. That 6-6-6 debacle wouldn't have been an issue if we hadn't gone into cruise mode in the last quarter. That's what embarrasses me most. Oliver and Petracca were already cooked and the remaining players were either celebrating the victory early or had switched off. Pathetic! Earlier in the game I was thinking how well our defence was going without Lever and May. I still believe they can function well. The midfield was the problem. Shown up by Max Hall in the last and we didn't bother to respond other than have faith in our mids to respond. [censored] that! Hard tag on Hall FFS The 6-6-6 free was the MFC executing the dumbest of dumb footy. Max came back to the centre square with his arms in the air questioning why, when he didn't have to. Viney inexplicably standing by himself on the wing (assume he thought a complete restart was required). The rest of the players were dumbfounded (it's a theme) while NWM and Marshall came up with a winning plan.
  11. My tip is a Moir-type young or no-name player who we don't bother to do our homework on, who then runs amok - Collard for mine, then Sharman if Collard doesn't play.
  12. I doubt he was only offered two years. I suspect he was offered a range of options and he preferred/settled on the two year deal. It's not uncommon for players to do that until they hit free agency.
  13. Didn't expect to see Kalani or Sinnema in the Top 25
  14. Ahead of his 'run in the firsts' is Taylor, Buckley, Idun, Himmelberg and Aleer. I'd be happy to take a punt given our key defensive stocks.
  15. The main thing I want to see is: Out: Lever (managed) Dress up his omission with 'managed,' give him the week off. He can come back via Casey. He's clearly lost mobility. May or Adams to replace. Kolt and Windsor have no fitness/form but are our future. Spargo for Sparrow. Not sure about the rest.
  16. Agree with your thoughts on Howes. I thought he defended well, tackled strongly and intercepted everything. He controlled the backline (I'd like to see Adams do the same). My knock on Howes game was he didn't really do much with the footy after he won it. Sideways kicks or turnovers down the line. He came to the Dees with strong kicking skills and needs to add that polish to his game going forward.
  17. I read somewhere that Worpel is going to Geelong. Either way, he's a questionable kick and we have an oversupply of those.
  18. +1 Couldn't agree more Swooper
  19. I understand where you're coming from too DOF - the logic was I assume to top up the miles in his legs at Casey.
  20. Not sure how Harry Sharp gets a gig here. He was unsighted at Casey last game. I assume it's the sub vest again for him on the back of his casual jog v Essendon VFL.
  21. The article on the AFL website mentions conducting AFL umpire programs at Waverley. I was hoping that would be a factor in getting Caulfield over the line for us. afl.com.auBack in AFL hands: League buys Waverley Park from HawksThe historic venue has returned to the AFL's possession after a deal to purchase the Hawks' training base
  22. Cameron Schwabb was even more strongly favoured by the AFL. That ended up well!
  23. Guerra has a massive commitment overseeing the World Chamber of Commerce Conference (or whatever it is) event to be hosted by Melbourne Chamber of Commerce. I suspect the MFC has deferred his involvement in the Caulfield Racecourse developments (or is keeping him at arms length) until he is clear of this. But if you wanted to write a sensationalist article, you could frame it as The Age has. As Superunknown has suggested, there may be other complicating things in play too. As Garry Lyon has stated more than once, we sooo need to ferret out the leaks in this club.
