  1. depends on where we finish - i don't really rate Howe. If we end up with say pick 3 then we would probably want their first round pick or say pick 19
  2. Probably had to clear that up - the players may have been thinking if they didn't perform they would get a holiday in France
  3. Probably this years best changes - glad we dropped a tall in Spencer. Would have liked to give Toump another week but we need to field the best team and JKH has proven to be more influential. Still think we have a few too many inexperienced players with ANB, Stretch, Harmes, Bradshaw, Hogan etc
  4. Don't know why they post this an hour before the teams are announced. I guess it doesn't give too much away - looks like we will make a few changes though
  5. Imagine trying to be his manager. "Fremantle are offering 10 million for 10 years Jesse"
  6. Congrats Harmsy! Didn't know he was a Dee's fan growing up: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/leader/south-east/lifelong-melbourne-football-club-fan-james-harmes-fulfils-his-demon-dream-through-draft/story-fngnvoeu-1226769698721
  7. No - I think they will all be there with their "we stand by Hird" banners
  8. Frost has been out for a long time and just started running outside so that might explain the difference. Still 5 weeks though! Maybe 3 weeks training then 2 weeks increasing game time at VFL level? Or 2 weeks running followed by 3 weeks of training
  9. How did I know that was going to happen - oh well at least Jobe is out
  10. maybe a little to quickly though - once those premiership players go..
  11. Yep thats what I was thinking but remember reading someones post which said there was a cut off date for upgrading (which seemed a bit silly. Would like to see Harmes come in but not sure about adding him to Stretch and ANB (maybe rest one of them or give Harmes a few more VFL games to prove himself)
  12. I really couldn't care less about the whole rivalry and don't know why people continue to bring it up. Decision was made - lets work with what we got. Watts has really shown something this last month and hopefully he can keep it up. It all comes down to confidence and backing his speed, decision making and kicking (very important for our team).
  13. I am happy if we keep him in because we just dont have that much in reserve and would rather persist with him then gift Bail and Jones games. I think he may struggle against the more aggressive contested teams (WCE/Geelong) - probably also plays better when we are on top and he can use his tank and spread.
  14. Max King - he has played one good game at VFL level - No don't think so. I would say keep Dawes and maybe bring someone else in instead of Michie. Outs: Spencer, Bail, Jones Ins: Lumumba, Newton, JKH/michie Grimes? (could replace Howe) Vanders? (would be big in - big body and PACE!) Harmes? (can we elevate or is it too late) Would like to see Harmes but dont know if we can elevate another rookie and also we are playing enough youngsters as it is (Stretch, ANB etc.). He has got plenty of time and its not like we played really bad and need to make 4+ changes. (I guess its a balance between showing trust in players and resting after Darwin) I am just not sure what Michie has to offer us - he showed something last year however the two big questions are: is he too slow? and do we have to many of his type already? Havent given up on him though so him or JKH.
  15. Hunt and Harmes showing something is probably the best outcome from this match
  16. mm best way to deal with it is keep your expectations realistic - hope for a combative effort - if things turn bad I have the latest Hannibal episode to watch
  17. No one can blame you for that - I wonder if the more senior players have a similar mindset going into these games
  18. VFL (Casey) matches seem to always be a see-saw affair so i don't want to get my hopes up but who playing well?
  19. Channel 7 must have had a bad experience down at Casey Fields. Didn't know we had another McDonald at Casey - made me think of J. Macdonald.
  20. Demon mids a challenge: Hickmott http://www.westcoasteagles.com.au/news/2015-07-03/demon-mids-a-challenge-hickmott Finally building a respectable reputation - now its time to back it up. He says it will be a great test for their young midfield and I thought aw yeah everyone says they have a young team but WCE actually do. I love their spread of experience. Most of their players are around 25 wit about 5 senior players of around 30 and about 5 who are in their early 20's. I really like that mix and hopefully that can be us in 3 years time. They have great potentially over the next 3 years as most of their players enter their prime and their younger players develop. also another interesting article: Kicking bad habits: West Coast's recipe for successhttp://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-07-04/kicking-bad-habits-west-coasts-recipe-for-success
