  1. From memory he was probably one of the only players to really improve under Neeld and was a really good re-bounder. Under Roos he is playing a lot more conservative. No Salem and H is a bit of a worry. Dunn, Tmac and Jetta will need to provide some run out of the back if we are going to be any chance.
  2. Fairly good assessment of the coaching position on the AFL website: Assessing the performance of Paul Roos must be made in the context of his main objective which is to hand over a strong list, culture and team in 2017 to his successor Simon Goodwin. On that basis Roos is performing well. The side is more competitive, the players are being developed steadily and performing well when stepping up to the seniors and the team is functioning as a unit more often than not. There have been lapses – such as the last minute of the St Kilda game or the second half against the Magpies – but these can merely be filed into the valuable lessons category, particularly on the back of the win against Geelong. Roos is unlikely to mention the past again as the team has steadily built respect and is now a formidable opponent capable of kicking a winning score. Contracted until: End of 2016 Pressure rating: 3/10 - Peter Ryan
  3. Yesdont really trust the AFL injury list - Fitzy still test didn't he play 1-2 weeks ago? Still good to see Frost, Grimes, Kent and Vanders getting closer. Salem obviously a little annoying. Frost and Kent are a little unclear - they have been out for so long that I believe Mission said they will need a solid chunk of training before selection. So maybe add 2-3 weeks on top? Vanders hopefully can come in for Essendon. Hopefully we can get through the next 1-2 weeks without injury.
  4. I believe Roos takes milk and two sugars
  5. Lets face it Chook knows all
  6. Think Americans might have one up on us. Happy for all of the "FWITS" to flock to the Wimbledon - I don't watch tennis. I will be watching the Ashes and don't mind the bit of banter that they provide.
  7. Really feel like we would benefit from another year under Roos though. Was thinking maybe if Goodwin wants to get some experience as head coach (cement his structure/values) before 2017 then he could have the second half of 2016 following the bye. Provided that's not too confusing for players and staff.
  8. Is this news or just discussion? I believe it was always the plan to slowly build up Goodwins responsibility. I imagine after the break Goowin will continue to have more game-day responsibility. Head coach or mentor - Roos will be pulling the strings. We are paying Roos big $$ for a reason so I would like him to coach for as long as possible but at the same time I have faith that he will know whats best.
  9. So correct me if I am wrong but our last free to air game was round 10 queens birthday. Our next free to air game is round 17 against the Saints. That's a bit tight.
  10. Think we saw against Geelong the importance of everyone playing their roles - particularly the rucks and mids. We will need to be able to win it out of the center in order to get it to Jesse.
  11. I think you meant Hogan lines up for his tenth after the siren
  12. and then he went and signed a five year contract with the swans..mmm still got some work to do
  13. effective 25th of June mmm. Probably was just like "should we tell him today.... nah lets just palm this one off to the Herald Sun tomorrow"
  14. Good to see Dank banned for life - now its your turn Hird!
  15. Agreed - the risk is low You can only make so many changes every year because their is a limit to the amount of decent players you can bring in (unless of course your name is Neeld). The draft only has so much depth, we may be able to lure a free agent or trade - that probably leaves us with maybe a max of 8 changes. We already have a large list of players which we know are not part of the MFC's future including the likes of Mckenzie, terlich, jamar etc. It's a no-brainer I think
  16. waste of time - wont happen... I dont think That's why i haven't really bothered reading 130 pages of speculation
  17. Will have a scan latter this month to determine when he starts running (fingers crossed)
  18. Hoping Gawn actually gets more then 5cm off the ground otherwise his height advantage will be wasted
  19. Think we haven't missed Frost all that much as we have good depth with Garland, Dunn, Mcdonald, H etc. Having said that I would have liked to see him getting games and developing. Don't rate Kent? Trengoves hard to rate because he is a bit of an unknown same with Petracca. Interesting comment from the mid season review with Roos - talked really positively about Newton "no doubt he is going to improve a lot..." 1. VandemBerg 2. Salem 3. Frost 4. Kent
  20. + also said Trengove will have another scan late July to decide when he starts running.
  21. How about: Ins: Hogan, JKH Outs: Bail, Riley JKH could replace Riley as sub Although we go in tall - Spencer, Dawes and Howe can perform the same role as last week - bring the ball to ground. Spencers no real forward however surely he can use his weight and size to at least put the ball at the feet of Garrett and JKH.
  22. Bit of frost bite I believe from the Melbourne weather
  23. Didn't stop the geelong fans rocking up on the weekend
  24. Good call - that's a possibility Ins: Hogan, Fitzy Outs: Spencer, Riley Fitzy not as good as Spencer in the ruck however can play forward/back JKH could also come in for bail
