  1. Weid very quiet or am I not understanding his role.
  2. GWS to me are currently like Port, West Coast and the Dogs, you look at their side on paper and there’s some big names there, but they are playing very poorly at the moment. I didn’t see there rd 1 match against the Swans but against the Tigers and Freo they were ordinary. Yes they can play some good footy in patches but ultimately I think the coach has list the players.
  3. Would love our accuracy on goal to improve.
  4. Regardless of how many if any TMac and Weid kick tonight BBB is an automatic inclusion next week.
  5. Please don’t say Brisbane is one of them.
  6. 💯, their most recent test was last week and they failed miserably. Continuing to to beat up on weaker sides but crumble under real pressure, sounds a lot like Port.
  7. Currently cap space would be tight not only this year but for the next 2 at least after that. But when the likes of Gawn, Brown, May, TMac etc finish up will have a lot of cap space free and Luke Jackson will only be 23 years old. Now at that point we will still have a lot of talent at the club but there’s no reason we can’t offer Jackson a very lucrative long term deal.
  8. For those of us who missed it, when did young become one in the national anthem?
  9. 2nd best based on what? The three teams they’ve beaten this year have so far have zero wins combined.
  10. Frustrating part is a lot of the bad calls made so far this year, the umpires have been in a position to see what has happened and still made the wrong call. Also would love some consistency on players getting caught with the ball then just dropping it cold.
  11. It’s hard to be up every week and as good as we are we still have 4 key players out, 5 if you count Hibberd. Had we kicked straight early the game would of been put to bed at qtr time. We’re no longer the team we used to be, we’ve just done enough the last two weeks but we will/should rise to the occasion tonight and put Port away.
  12. As he should be, he stood up in our three finals last year when needed.
  13. Can’t remember which qtr but TMac was having a set shot city end, close to the boundary around the 50 metre arc. Oliver was standing by himself for calling for the ball. TMac ignored him, went back had the shot and missed. I’m all for forwards backing themselves in but Oliver was directly in front probably 35-40 metres out. What happened to team first?
  14. Can’t kick goals if you’re not putting yourself in the right places.
  15. I do value offensive contributions. I never mentioned him getting dropped. Was never talking about Spargo. The reason we didn’t win by 80 was because our set shots on goal were poor at best for the first half.
  16. I saw that, was impressed with that passage of play. But he does go missing in games, the throw away line of “pressure acts” or “not understanding his/someone’s role” gets used a lot here and is currently worn out. I’m not suggesting he gets dropped but like a few of our players at the moment, they’re just travelling. No reason for concern, it’s a long season and they’ll all fire when required.
  17. It seems improbable the either party would want a long-term deal. Luke because he would want to keep his options open and the Club due to salary cap pressures. It’s a delicate balance. After another 2 years there may be further room for movement, maybe not. It’s would be terrible to lose Luke as it would be to lose any of our stars when their contracts expire. The thought of Oliver or Petracca in opposition jumpers would be real heart sink stuff. However, the Hawks lost Buddy and were able to maintain their list and reap further premiership rewards. How the Club manages all these complexities will be crucial to longer term success and the health of our playing group. If you look at the contracts thread I think it’s a safe bet that the club is looking further ahead than just the next two years. Other factors worth considering are - Players that have already had their “payday contracts”. - Players such as TMac, Gawn and I think Lever who have recently extended their contracts and you would assume have extended for less after already cleaning up. - Players such as Hibberd and Melksham who are most likely in their last season. - Young players such as Rivers, Kozi, Petty and Bowey who are all premiership players and bloody good players in their own right but will have to bide their time for their paydays.
  18. I think they were broken before that, last season before they beat the Bulldogs in rd 23 they hadn’t beaten a top 8 side. I’m of the belief that both coaches have lost their players. I don’t want to sound arrogant but the only team that stands between us going back to back is the Swans.
  19. If Port and GWS are serious their coaches should be sacked by tomorrow evening. Hinkley is in his tenth season as coach and Cameron in his ninth. Their teams respective efforts over the weekend when taking into consideration their exit from last years season as well as their opponents speaks volumes.
