  1. Brayshaw and Jackson this year, Oliver the next. Factoring in the current money they’re on. Then the following players contracts : 2022 Hibberd & Melk, both reitre 2023 May, will be 31, possibly play on but he’s had his payday and you’d assume he’d be on a lot less. 2024 Brown & Tmac, both will be 32 and that might see them both out. Obviously we’re drafting players in who would be on minimum money / trading players who may take less to be at the club, all part of the ongoing circle. But in short there’s enough for all of our stars to have their payday unless off course a rival clubs offer something ridiculous and one of our players choose to take it.
  2. Bailey Fritsch in 2022 2.2 against Footscray rd 1 1.0 against Suns rd 2 2.2 against Essendon rd 3 3.0 against Port rd 4 4.0 against GWS rd 5 2.2 against Richmond rd 6 1.1 against Hawthorn rd 7 1.0 against St.Kilda rd 8 He was quiet last week but surely these numbers qualify him for the “playing his role” status which gets handed out to others when justifying a supposed quiet game. One of our teams strengths is you can’t stop them all, it was only a couple of weeks ago people were calling for Kozi to do more. The counter argument being his pressure acts, I would think Fritsch’s pressure acts would never rival that of our small fwds but he is a class player that is hard to match up on and can produce when needed.
  3. In his 9th season as coach, from memory he was there under Sheedy before that. Had the luxury of watching / learning from the Suns develop a club from the ground up. They targeted contested ball winning types. Had an abundance of first round picks, zone/academy players. I said earlier in the year that I thought he had lost the players. 4 goals in a game of footy is unacceptable. They’ve been underperforming long before Toby got suspended….again.
  4. I think you are right actually. They beat the Bombers, Swans & Giants.
  5. I don’t have time to double check tonight, but I’m pretty sure they didn’t, I remember posting about it on here during the finals. Who was it that you thought they defeated?
  6. Case in point : Port Adelaide Finished 2nd at the end of home and away season. Only beat one other top 8 side all year and that was the Dogs in rd 23 by 2 points. Beat Geelong in their QF, had week 2 off then got the dates wrong for their prelim only arriving at the ground with 12 minutes to go in the last qtr.
  7. Watching the morning news on channel 9 apparently Lumumba has released an “explosive dossier” with new claims against Gary Pert and Nathan Buckley. The story said Lumumba was meant to hand over the dossier when Collingwood did their internal review into racism (yet these new claims are about inappropriate comments made and the playing of a video but not racism related) but didn’t trust them to act appropriately with it. I can’t help but think why these claims weren’t raised earlier rather than the drip feed approach that seems to be happening…. Nothing on any AFL pages yet.
  8. AFL announces record club memberships for this season, 1,043,604 fans have signed up.
  9. Looking at the ladder now with regards to percentage, we are in such a strong position because both the Lions and Freo have played North & the Eagles.
  10. 2.2 against Footscray rd 1 1.0 against Suns rd 2 2.2 against Essendon rd 3 3.0 against Port rd 4 4.0 against GWS rd 5 2.2 against Richmond rd 6 1.1 against Hawthorn rd 7 Been serviceable for a mid sized forward in a team that has multiple fwd options and we’ve only really fired in the 3rd against GWS.
  11. They’re fully aware of the challenge before them. The Saints will come hard early on, let’s not wait for the 3rd. Get it done early.
  12. Would you happen to have the breakdown of many times we’ve played them at the G since then? We rolled them last year but that was at Marvel.
  13. The results over the last few weeks show us that this competition can in no way sustain 20 teams, not now nor in next 15 - 20 years. I’m all for a team in Tasmania but a current club must be relocated, any potential incoming CEO MUST share this opinion for the good of the game.
  14. I’m stuck on two lines of thought right now. Tigers 2018 preliminary loss. Barring major injuries were playing in another GF.
  15. Regardless of the result, suddenly the Lions win over the Swans doesn’t seem as good.
  16. What’s happening in Sydney, anyone watching? Can the Suns sustain this?
  17. Did anyone catch Fagan’s response to Jack Riewoldt’s comments that the game should be postponed? Thanks
  18. In 2020 he only had 10 goals kicked on him during the home & away season yet was overlooked for Harris Andrews in the AA team even though his numbers weren’t nearly as good as May’s. Brisbane were the buzz team at the time behind Richmond and we were playing some ordinary footy.
  19. With the exception of GWS v Cats this week looks reasonably straight fwd, but as we know there’s been at least 2 big upsets each week.
  20. I don’t think it would be a good idea to announce a preferred option this early in the season. Covid & or injury has and will continue to give Weideman chances to prove himself.
