  1. Goodes spent the later part of his career as a half forward plus they have lost/are going to loose Jetta. They have a surplus of inside players. Watts gets out of the Melbourne spotlight.
  2. He did stress it was a rumour but it's what he heard. I look at it this way, Robinson could be the next VB or could be the next Cook. Watts needs a fresh start, if he's on 3-400k that's extra cap space to throw at someone else. We may not get back what we perceive to be of equal value, for us it might be about the extra money. Small part of a big picture.
  3. I had to google him as well. We all should know Bird, Robinson plays wing/half forward. Not sure how to post links but from reading on the swans website he's been stuck in the NEAFL behind sone pretty handy players.
  4. My swans mate reckons he heard today Watts to Sydney for Craig Bird and Daniel Robinson.
  5. As already alluded to we can't doubt his efforts but his disposal, decision making and lack of pace lets him down. Still think he was pushed from the captaincy. Has been overlooked throughout the year on a few occasions. Like others on the list a fresh start is needed or next year may be his last in the e game.
  6. I refuse to go in Twitter but I appreciate the efforts that do and post stuff for our interest.Could Sydney be a possible destination for Col.
  7. A contract so low or one that reflects his true worth and ability. With a full list he's not in my best 22. Happy for him to go. I'm glad the club is finally taking hold of the reins. Looks like H got the last of the handouts.
  8. There are a lot of wraps for him in here which is a good thing. Living in Sydney I don't get to see the lower ranks play.
  9. Hate to reign on yours but he was drafted 2012. 1 under Neeld 2 under Roos = 3
  10. If we draft a KPF to help Hogan he will need time to develop. IMO unless Dawes pulls a rabbit out of a hat next year could well be his last.
  11. Yes our midfield needs attention and between Howe/Watts/1&2 round picks we can hopefully address that. If we could land him cheaply(3rd round pick) I would play him ahead of Dawes as a forward purely on his ability to compete and take a contested mark as well as a pack mark.
  12. I will cop flak for this and that's fine but before people comment if you didn't watch his game rd23 against the Tigers have a look. Majak Daw has come a long way since being picked up by North. He has a natural leap that rivals Nik Nat, his tap work has improved, can take a contested grab. His kicking has also improved, whilst not brilliant(how many ruckman are elite kicks)he's not on the list for that. Round 23 he kicked 2 goals, 1 after taking a towering mark over two Richmond players before sprinting away taking a bounce than kicking into an unmanned goal square. He also had 25 hit outs(Maric 32 and Vickers 10) and laid 8 tackles. He occasionally looked lost up forward but that may be due to lack of cohesion. I'm not suggesting sell the farm for him but his opportunities are limited at North. Considering we lack talls and many on here seem content keeping people who have shown no improvement. At 24 he could be a short term fix. If you visit the contracts thread Jones/Vince/Dunn aside all of our talent is 23 or younger. We need to recruit someone but he will need a couple of years to develop. He couldn't be any worse than Dawes who is getting gifted games through lack of options and would come at half the price.
  13. Granted, but hopefully not 4 years at the speculated price. Or is it just that......speculation.
  14. Hogan is currently contracted on his current rate for two more seasons.Doors/Grimes/Watts are all out of contract at the end of 2016. I'm guessing about 1.3 mil will be freed up. Tmac will get some of that in his new contract. Young players like Brayshaw/Petracca would be on minimum as 1st/2nd year players. Jones contract is hopefully front loaded. Whatever H is getting he's over paid. Young players who will be guns get their payday about 22-23 - 28. Treloar being a great current example. Hogan is 20, 22 in 2017, that's when his payday will come. The club has done its numbers and thinks considering we have a young side we have a window to offer up big $$$$ and shake someone from the tree. Thinking out loud, we missed on Danger, rather than target the best player at each club what about a second tier like a Steele Sidebottom(or someone similar).
  15. Because he holds all the cards. Or is it another case of nobody wants him. 1 years under Neeld. 2 years under Roos 1 year under Stone 1 year under Goodwin 1 year under McCartney Righto, he'll let us know when he's ready. Clubs aren't stupid, they look at who he has had at his disposal, and there's some pretty handy names there and nothing....
  16. You made some good points Rjay. Ross only had to watch 3 games before tonight.Eagles v Hawks two weeks ago, Port v Hawks and Tigers v Hawks from the home and away. Deny them space, deny easy possession and pressure the ball carrier. He's out of ideas, hasn't blooded much youth, where to now....the trapdoor.
  17. As I said at the start of the night, Norths first final is tomorrow. Richmond and Sydney didn't count. If North get flogged tomorrow they will be stupid enough to think that they have achieved something this year.
  18. All good, my bad. I've been skipping between Demonland and two different group messages. Rapid fire all round.
  19. There's the difference. Hawks, couple of pats on the back, very low key. They know it all means nothing. They play to win flags. Rewind to Norths carry on last week. Tells the story.
  20. What I find amusing is how many people are pi££ed at Hawthorn and what they stand for then will jump across and argue why Watts and Toumpas shouldn't be traded.
  21. How many touches for O'Rourke tonight?Chip isn't the reason they won tonight.
