Making the finals
This will be the last post I read each and every night before sleep leading into the Hawthorn game.

Making the finals
Even with some over the top statements lately on here, tipping our team to win a game of footy sounds as ridiculous these days. No basis Sydee, just a gut feel.

Not sure about finals, but we will beat Hawthorn.

Won't someone think of the children? (seriously)
I understand your frustration along with other long suffering supporters od. The kid is only 10 and I won’t be highlighting our past failures to him. He’s been invested since 2014-15 and has seen more wins than losses or at worst an even ledger. For now, explaining to him that some teams are up the top and some down the bottom will have to do.

As sad as it sounds, you do start questioning whether you should be taking them to games for the rest of the year. The low point for me was half way through the third quarter against the Saints when I turned to my 10yr old son and saw him staring into space with watery eyes. It hit hard, yeah it’s only a game they say, but to some it’s more than that with the time and energy you invest into the footy club. I’d like to think he’s a tough little bugger and come to realise it’s part of the game unfortunately.

Viney to miss a couple of weeks.
Personally, I’d bring Sparrow in, give the kid a few consecutive games and see how he goes. Misery continues, unfortunately Maynard isn’t the answer going forward. Maybe Jones back in the centre square now.

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
As long as he brings Jack Silvagni with him W’DEE. He’s out of contract at the end of the season.

When are they naming the team?

Round 6 Non MFC games
X 2 Luci. I’d rather spend the next two hours on DL looking for a laugh and some quality analysis.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Upon reflection, Lewis was decent I thought. From where I was sitting he spent a lot of time on Caddy which I thought was odd at the time. Caddy had no influence at all on the game.

POST GAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
We were in the game half way through the third, I thought we were a sneaky chance to go the distance. Simply overwhelmed in the end, Tigers are not a highly skilled side but their pressure is unbelievable at times. Numerous times our players had more time than they thought they did and needlessly just put boot to ball resulting in turnovers. That’s what the Tigers do, perceived pressure. I’m not sure if it’s the way the game is coached, but often players bob up in good 5-10 minute patches then they just vanish into thin air for the rest of the game. As for our 2 tackles inside forward 50, pretty hard to lay a tackle in there when you keep kicking the ball to their loose defenders and it pinballs straight back out. Maxy, T Mac, Salem, Hore, Hibbo (The new Dustbuster maybe) probably our best I thought and Stretch was good too. One player that is struggling big time imo is Fritta, good against Sydney, two well below par performances since. As silly as it sounds I was a lot angrier after the Saints game. Maybe I have conceded. I think I started typing this 5 pages ago. Sorry, the Milkshake was good too.

GAMEDAY: Rd 06 vs Richmond
T Mac and Frost walked out together, warmed up together for a while, walked back in together chatting the whole way. Backline Bros tonight?

Have we ever lost a game on a Wednesday?

GAMEDAY: Rd 06 vs Richmond
It was a gutsy performance that night, simply ran out of legs after dominating for the first 3 quarters and should have been up by more than 20 at 3 quarter time. We also lost Spencer during the second quarter and Mr Watts was rucking again. Just make it tough again for them where they have to earn their goals all game. Toiges fans have become arrogant, want to see them shuffling in their chairs for as long as possible.

Injury List - Season 2019
Are we certain KK has concussion like symptoms? Some rumours doing the rounds it’s the neck issue giving him trouble again.

Oskar Baker
Too right. Nicknamed him ‘The Bread Man’ thinking he will deliver the goods at some stage last year. Hasn’t shown much, even before his injury unfortunately. Wish him luck, but slim chance of making it.

May setback + Jetta knee injury (8-10 weeks)
Which second quarter incident are they talking about? The injury report video that shows the Saints player diving across Nev’s leg happened in the first quarter.

2020 starts now ?
Of course I did, apologies for leaving out the if he was available. That’s the problem, even some marginal depth players aren’t available and he would be playing imo right now if fit to try and save his career.

"Professionals"
I’m still hanging onto the fact our FD has tried to make adjustments Wise over pre season. No doubt we have become the hunted, maybe Goody hasn’t had the desired players available to adjust for one reason or another and has made do with what’s available. Bottom line is we have a game tomorrow night, everything seems against us and it would be some sort of win if we can do it. As frustrating as it is right now, I don’t think many on here are going anywhere.

"Professionals"
I don’t know how in depth our review was or wasn’t, but I do agree with @Lucifer's Hero on the point of the PF loss is very similar to our losses to Dons and Saints this year in the way the opposition has set-up against us. Watching the PF live at Optus all I can remember early from the game is seeing two of their quickest players in Rioli and Ryan setting up defensively on a flank each just outside our defensive 50 forcing our defenders trying to clear down the middle a lot where turnovers were created resulting in scores for them. The Dons hardly started Tippa and Fantasia inside 50 in Round 3 where you would have thought they would be most dangerous. It seemed they were used as high half forwards/wings at the time using their speed to block our rebounds and counter us quickly. Again on Saturday, Billings and Gresham were used the same way. Might be just coincidence, but simply from an observational point of view the similarities are striking.
