  1. Why didn’t the clock run down when Henderson took the out on the full kick at 1:17 to go?
  2. Collingwood has more free kicks than inside 50s.
  3. .....and a big enough win to the Suns would have us 18th.
  4. I actually thought Morton was a good smart player early days. Knew where to run and always created an option, he was ignored a lot of times. That’s exactly what he’s doing there, the video just makes it look like he’s playing chicken. In terms of his development, I don’t know, another wasted pick.
  5. Ha Ha, smart footballer, running to create an option.
  6. ‘AFL’s most misunderstood rule’, No [censored] Sherlock. Wake me up in October.
  7. Hill’s manager has confirmed a few Vic clubs are chasing Hill. I wonder if we have put a call through. The article states we are believed to be in the market for more speed and are keeping an eye on Hill’s situation. Is the following giving false hope to other clubs chasing him? "I've heard the rumours and media innuendo, but we've had absolutely no discussion with Hawthorn … he won't get there," Young said. https://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-07-04/manager-confirms-victorian-clubs-are-chasing-freo-champ-
  8. We’ll find out soon enough i guess BBP, the video showed him pointing to the area then walking off without saying the extent.
  9. Footy Feed on the AFL site says Jones left track early with a calf issue today. In some doubt for this week.
  10. Pity, was looking forward to the Tigers and Pies home games at a near capacity MCG at the start of the season. Was picturing noise levels of last year’s finals. Want to see some fight from here, don’t want other teams penciling in 4 points when they see our name.
  11. As above, I wouldn’t mind Lewis whispering in Roughy’s ear to bring him down. An article a few weeks back had the Suns interested in Roughead for a possible off-field role next season. Go for it I say. Where does ‘land stand on Chaplin remaining as backline coach? Any potential candidates available should he be moved on?
  12. Our lack of crumbing on Sunday was as bad as I’ve seen for a while. We definitely need someone ready to go for next season. Jetta is looking likely to play restricted minutes at Casey this week according to Misson. When he’s ready to come back to AFL, why not throw him forward for the remainder if none of Spargo, Chandler and Bedford manage to get a game. He did play forward early days, he’s not quick but might add some maturity, leadership and toughness down there. I think our defence has been ok without Jetta. A bit left field, I don’t know anymore, just thinking out loud.
  13. Two weeks ago ANB was close to a 2 year extension. How long is close?
  14. His ankle was the size of a tennis ball last night on the news. Misso says it will be a battle this week to get the swelling down. We were told an endless amount of times last year if players felt as much as an itch it was off the track time. The man deserves a rest.
  15. I had a look at Hipwood’s ‘ GameBreaker’ highlights to see how he got his goals. Hore was on Hipwood for the first goal, ball watched and allowed Hipwood to run to the top of the square unopposed. May let Hore know all about it too. May was on him for the second, Hipwood just beat him on a lead. Petty was on him for his 3rd and like Hore for Hipwood’s first goal, ball watched and allowed him to run free for another mark and goal. Petty was on him for his 4th and 5th also. 2 of his first 3 goals were due to basic defensive errors from a couple of inexperienced players. Hipwood was allowed to get off the leash so to speak. Since we are being honest, I thought Salem was a bit unlucky not to get a coaches vote. He was by far our best player. In a game where we led for about 60% of the time no MFC player got a vote.
  16. Anyone catch what Frosty had to say on 7news?
  17. Surely we all agree that Salem will have nothing to answer for after his hit yesterday with the Big O. Still a tad nervous when the MRO is involved though, there’s been plenty of ? moments previously.
  18. Jeffy probably wouldn’t have made a difference yesterday but at least he knows how to shark a ball off a pack. Find the next best thing and play them. Chandler and Bedford not ready? Spargo is the other option, noticed he didn’t get much ball for Casey but had 10 tackles. The lack of crumbing yesterday was unbelievable. Ball hits deck, Lions players having a raffle to pick it up.
  19. It’s ok, we’re red-hot favourites. What could possibly go wrong?
  20. They didn’t just beat us, they smashed us in contested ball by 27. Probably one of the biggest differentials we’ve seen against us recently. I do agree with Goody’s comments about us staying in the game with counter attacking goals and that being an ‘unhealthy’ way to play but how does he learn from it? We can’t rely on the hope of winning contested ball each game and the rest sorting itself out. Inside 50 forward tackles were 7-6 their way. They didn’t generate scores from forward pressure, the lack of accountability up the field was a killer. 33 shots from 63 inside 50s compared to our 20 from 59. Our defence worked hard to clear the ball but our lack of poise moving the ball forward (Salem and Jones excused) was evident all day. Another frustrating game to watch, especially watching the Lions clear their defensive 50 with ease and watching two to three of their players sitting in the centre square alone for their counters. How often have we seen that this year?
  21. Yep and they lost Charlie Curnow for the match in the first quarter with a knee injury.
  22. Anyone else notice May giving Marty Hore a bit of a spray/advice in the 3rd? We were up by about 10 points when Cameron kicks the ball long to a contest in the pocket from about 70m, Hore looked like he was manning Hipwood and they both ran to the contest together which May spoiled to the boundary. Zorko doesn’t give up the contest, picks the ball up on the line and kicks it to the top of the square where Hipwood ran on his own to mark and goal for his first. Hore just stood there ball watching while Hipwood ran off. As soon as Hipwood took the mark unopposed that is when May turned to Hore to let him know about it. Hore will be a good player for us but I liked the way May went about it, just reminding a new player that concentration levels need to be at a high level constantly.
  23. 6. Salem 5. Jones 4 May Long Pause..... 3. Viney 2. Petracca 1. Oliver
