A Day at the Races
Good work, I backed Brandenburg the Win, not all is lost, TAB has bonus bet offers for the first 6 races at Flem and Rosehill for second and third. A couple of bonus bets back already. Dalasan very strong in the last 100m, thought I had the winner there.

I can supply the snorkels Wadda, just not sure which horse we can put them on. Bugger, jockeys already commenting after the first the track is very soft. Soft 6 already.

A real struggle to find a best this week fellas. Saturday Best - Rosehill Race 9 Number 3 Outrageous (Win) $2.90

2020 AFL Fixture
Don’t mind it, a few short turnarounds which aren’t ideal but hopefully the new fitness staff get recovery right. 4 finalists from 19 in the first 7 rounds, get cracking boys. Add a trip down the highway as another certainty in Life. Hope we smash Ess in R7 on our turf as the away team.

A Day at the Races
With others on here. Leaning towards Raheen House for Bendigo Cup in a tricky race. Host of other chances like stated above. Hang Man can produce a devastating finish and represents good odds. Can’t totally discount the Hayes/Dabernig team with their two runners at double figures. I’ll probably focus on a few exotics.

Bennell will smash them, Langdon BOG and only 140 odd days to go.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Out of the interested clubs are we the first to put him through a medical? Don’t mind this move personally, loads of talent and if he has some luck over the next year or two with his body we could benefit greatly. Even if he only shows 75% of his potential. Risk worth taking and if it doesn’t work out so be it.

I’ll admit I was very surprised Nolen got taken off Macca. Also thought he didn’t do much wrong in the Caulfield Cup run. Interesting to see how this plays out now.

Closest to pin for our Round 1 match? My guess is Dogs at Marvel Sunday 13:10 slot.

A Day at the Races
A bit of a twist on which jockey will ride Melb Cup favourite Constantinople. Luke Nolen lost the ride after the Caulfield Cup when connections decided to engage Glen Boss as a replacement. Nolen expressed his disappointment on social media earlier in the week albeit in a classy manner. Boss has now been suspended for careless riding from the Randwick meeting yesterday and is set to miss the big race. Boss will roll the dice and appeal but news reports state it will be highly unlikely the appeal succeeds. Is Nolen’s phone about to get a call from Lindsay Park again? If I believed in MFCSS, I’d say this is unsettling for my top pick in the Cup.

Simply an outstanding win by Lys Gracieux. Big fan of Craig Williams, loved the early move on Castelvecchio and it took a champ to run the 3yr old down. Lucky enough to grab a percentage of the F4.

Not to worry Wadda, the run was good considering. Slow tempo, crikey we could have walked and beat them to the 1200m mark. The jock wanted to be closer to speed I felt but was sitting a little wide early and rather than staying trapped decided to take it back which I thought was a good move at the time.

A Day at the Races
I think we should send our stayers to Europe during the spring. While the good overseas horses are here we can try and pick off a few staying races over there. Good win by Hunting Horn, is it in calculations for the Melb Cup? You wouldn’t think a stop start tempo would suit in a small field at the Valley but there you go.

Saturday Best Randwick Race 6 No.7 Master Of Wine $2.40 Well, I’ve narrowed the Cox Plate down to about 10 runners, as open as it’s ever been. I think it might be heading overseas. Castelvecchio might be worth a little something each way at the weight.

Nice work Macca and good call on Haky. Used a bonus bet on Supernova so no real damage there, was lucky enough to get on Long Jack in the Classic. Apparently this colt was too ‘fired’ up in the mounting yard its last two starts hence the not so flash showings, must have behaved today, thought it won well. Interested to read the crew’s thoughts on the Cox. Shaping up as a ripper.

I’m on Supernova, have to stick with it after backing it last start.

AFLW Draft 2019
Remember reading on the MFC website the other day Luci we recruited Libby Birch at the expense of Pick 8. Trade perhaps? Not sure about our second round pick though.

2019 Player Reviews: #26 Sam Weideman
Was mentioned half way through the season Weid might require hip surgery. Has he overcome the hip complaint or is this something the club will have to manage?

Brilliant staying performance by Mer. Well done to the ‘landers that were on it. Was on Constantinople and it put in a real eye catcher for the Melbourne Cup. Watched the replay and read the stewards report so no bias kicks in before judgement. It was unlucky but you make your own luck in this game. Should be a quality two weeks coming up.
