Thanks this week to Geoff, Peter, Judy, Julian, Graham, Anne, Liz, Daniel, Geoff & Tim last night AND Perrin, Steve Pete, Judy, Trish, Cheryl, Geoff & Geoff for Monday. 37 sign ups from 941 dial ups. PJ was in again to Tx us for the ongoing effort. Next week an ex player, who kicked 4 goals in a grand final, will be in to meet & greet. We have now experienced a ripper week, a good one & a grinder. . What is in store for the coming week???

And amid the sad news, another 20 or so renewals tonight...more details to follow

What?....supporting an MFC coach, surely this can't be Demonland, especially after Roos said two of the players who are improving are Roh Bail and Matt Jones, sack him, Demonland knows best.......
-
Bump, read a bit of good news Nineteen rallying the troops, perhaps we can nominate him for pre match address 24 sign ups from 327 dial ups. Tx to Perrin, Pete, Judy, Trish, Cheryl, Geoff & Geoff. Solid results whilst we are “Kicking into the Wind”. On again to night & would love to show the club we really mean biz with a maximum turn out.

Hello children how are we this evening, in amongst the 27 new topics started In the last 24 hours, all saying how crap MFC are, some bright news, another 20 odd memberships renewed tonight....... A conversation: Renewing member "about that game yesterday" Me (with trepidation) "yes, what about it?" RM "it was a bit impolite, wasn't it" I think MFC supporters invented the word Resilient
-
Gee, I wish I had a dollar for every time I have heard this about a young player after 1 or 2 games, I would be a very rich man
-
Rohan Welsh is at every MFC training session and has been in the box or the bench for the first 2 games, so I assume he has a slight inkling about what Roos is trying to achieve, the standlalone VFL team is the least of our worries at the moment Interesting to see Nev Jetta playing so well, mainly I think because he is playing with no pressure on him

Demons fan stay loyal - Martin Flanagan article
Satyriconhome replied to rufus's topic in Melbourne Demons
Any supporter that thinks the players don't know what the supporters think is completely wrong, most try the extra 1% but for a myriad of reasons it doesn't work, this is what Roos is saying, it is his job to get 22 players who consistently get it to work The Flanagan article is up to his usual standard -
You need to get back to Melbourne old chap, I have heard living in the cultural wasteland of Sydney can affect you, it was mildly humourous.....
-
RGRS and the master - you must remember to hit the refresh button, with today's tracking cookies, the site will open with the page you last looked at, both training sessions ie Wednesday and Friday were there on Monday morning, I know because I checked to see if I could take the morning off again to get away from work. don't mind the constant criticism if it is based on fact
-
I know but I have faith in Roos and his team, think how far back surprised him as well, think it may even take till next season and another clear out My lovely lady told me it was amusing to watch me sink further and further into my seat on Sunday, but after a walk home through pleasant East Melbourne and a fine wine I was ok
-
Damn, I was reading down, to put something similar, I just wish people would suck it up, it's footy, nobody dies if we lose, we'll get there eventually You begin to understand why Roos initially was so reluctant to get back on board the Reality Bus, it is not the footy, it is the rest of the media driven rubbish to have to put up with day to day
-
No just supporters of the Club And they know it is just footy

Another 32 sign ups on Tuesday night, making 62 over 2 nights, so all is not lost even after a 93 point loss

Changes for next week...
Satyriconhome replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
There is constant bemoaning on this site about the lack of information the Club provides, interesting that some don't listen to or read what is actually on the website Nev Jetta was in the best for Casey in the 3 practice games played, because he is playing FINALLY in the position that suits him best, at halfback The fact that he is a rookie makes it very difficult at the moment to elevate him to the Senior list unless we get an long term injury again Jade Rawlings also gave him a pump out in the preview video for the Saints game -
Here is Nineteen's bit..... Paul Roos has decided to step down due to the …. April 1st ….Sorry guys. A tough night for volunteers to make the trek in but Pete, Pete, Steve, Ross, John & Geoff prevailed with 30 sign ups. An excellent nights work considering the circumstances. Interesting that a thumping regular encourages thinking from supporters along the lines of “now is the time I need to support my club”. We start a new project tonight following up on younger membership. Pushing the weeks volunteer sign up towards another 100 would be a great response to the weekends anguish.

Gee it's raining all over Demonland at the moment, some really optimistic threads. Anyway 27 members got signed up again last night, further details to follow, I only got one no all night (a real classic)

I hate to rain on parades but Gawn did not train last week, so that puts him a week behind at least -
The continuing saga of Melbourne's injury list - 2014
Satyriconhome replied to alpha33's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jamar eager to make impact upon return What I have been saying, cut the Media guys a bit of slack, they monitor Demonland to see what issues are concerning supporters, but they need time and opportunity to get items together, with a myriad of constraints to deal with. Jamar is very articulate and a seasoned footy player, and you get no spin, just what it is like when you keep getting these little setbacks -

Training - Friday 28th March, 2014
Satyriconhome replied to Satyriconhome's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hello, back at my desk. Housekeeping first, Clark, Nicholson and Gawn were no shows. Dawes was there early training by himself, left the track like a rocket so didn't get a chance to speak to him, asked the trainer who had worked with him (Spin Detectors Engaged Please), said he had completed everything he was supposed to in the session and was feeling good, so still on track. Good news on the height front, both Jamar and Garland completed the full session, Russian told me he had to get through training this week and next and he will probably shirt up for Casey's first game, same with Garlo. Fitzy being Fitzy pretended to be concussed as he walked towards the doctors and physios at the end of his training, he was wobbling, much to everybody's amusement, gave me thumbs up, so assume he should be right. Both Tommy Mc and Fitzy didn't do last main drill with the group. After the main group had finished, the players not in the squad for Sunday joined with the Casey guys for more training, simulated match drill, interestingly after the teams had set up both Blease and Kent joined them but Evans didn't. A lot of the main group went to the adjacent oval and in my opinion messed around with the ball for another 15 mintues, bombling, outrageous kicks etc, nobody seemed that bothered so obviously a bit of fun after training. Interesting point of how the players are managed these days, Christian Salem was not allowed to play in the match sim, was told he had done his load for that day (sounds rude), bit [censored] off, which is a good sign ... watched him during main session, his kicking skills are sublime. Tyson also came off just before the main group finished but did some reflex and hand/eye coordination with a trainer. Jamar, Spencer, King spent the end of the session with Greg Stafford. Hogan - came out, did two laps of the track walking, sat in golf cart watching and left. Jack Watts (SDEP) told me was fine and was looking forward to Sunday, no physio, no bandages, no pressure sock, no crutches, no worries? Tommy Mc - had a good chat to him, first got a corkie in Alice Springs, first one on Saturday in exactly the same spot, then got a bit of a knock behind the thigh, he was wearing a protector on his thigh under his shorts, said he was a bit proppy but once warmed up it felt better and better, was going to recover and unless it reacts, he should play. Think that's about it, any questions as per norm feel free.- 115 replies

I think you and some others need reminding, it's just footy, you must do it because you want you, like 32000 others at the moment I think some take any media way way too seriously, most is spin these days or blanded by the constraints placed on it Personally I don't watch Dave Misson's Injury report or read some of trhe 'puff' pieces Matt Burgan has to churn out, It is not a brave stance, I just move on, I also am very cynical, I know I have been lied to in all facets of my life, but hey, I woke up this morning, I have a beautiful partner, some lovely grandkids, and I can get to spend a sunny afternoon at the G on Sunday watching my team having a crack, what's not to like- 115 replies

Ok boys and girls I am going to take the morning off from my wonderfully toxic workplace (marvellous how selective redundancies can change working relationships) to attend training. Will check:- * any player in a full body cast * if Jack Fitzpatrick is over his concussion, if he turns up and actually faces the right way should be a good indication * if Jack Watts in now out for 2-3 weeks * which part of Max Gawn's 2 and half metre long hamstring is tight If anybody from West Coast is watching, should be easy to pick, they will be the tallest person at training Does Dave Misson have an abacus and a clairvoyant on hand to work out what not to say in next week's injury report re the length of time a player will be out, think I will just tell him to consult the myriad of medical and fitness professionals we have posting on Demonland?
