  1. No, Misson said in an article on club website that they are going to try and keep the interchanges to the number allowed during the season...and this from Mahoney “Our early discussions with Hawthorn are that they want it to be as close as it can be to a premiership season game,” he said. “Our approach will be that we’ll play as close to our best side, but we still want the opportunity to play some players, who have only had limited game time.” That being said I thought 27 was a strange number in the squad
  2. They are going to play as close to match conditions as possible so 3 of that squad will be emergencies and 1 sub
  3. He hardly ran pre Xmas so he is a bit behind the rest, if you watch a bit of the vision of the praccy game, you will see him 'struggling' with the running Assume because he had an issue with his patella, they are also being extra cautious
  4. Lewis and Clark went across North America to the Pacific......called the Corps of Discovery Expedition, bit like reading some of the posts on Demonland.....except that is "Cor!, what the hell is that!"
  5. Somebody being disingenuous on Demonland, I tell you "I'm shocked!"
  6. It's nioe to be amusing, you should try it some time Everybody entitled to an opinion except me, ah, nice to see I generated 3 or 4 posts, all about MFC right I would never support a team that dresses in blue and white squares, you must have the wrong person, look at my Twitter, Everton fan from way back, but then you never let facts get in the way of your vitriol Don't mind posts that are well balanced and offer a well thought out opinion, but just bashing is just that
  7. Should put this in the thread about Georgiou, he was actually encouraged by senior management at Lend Lease (who he worked for) to give it a crack, their attitude as well is engineering job will always be there, chance of being an AFL footballer is only given to a few
  8. Thought you didn't read my posts, change of heart obviously, not daring to ask, opening the door for ho hum
  9. You have the wrong chap, never been on Ology, thought it was even worse than here when I looked at it If you need some negativity in your life, that is your problem And it is a forum, so we are all entitled to our opinions, so if I don't agree with something I am entitled to express it, yes or no? I have a look at all threads, just certain posters contributions I don't bother reading
  10. I have been to quite a few AGM, most members sit on their hands, all talk Big business, sponsors and the TV channels pressured the AFL into acting,
  11. The point I was trying to make, and the reason Mods on here have such a hard time, is posts like this tend to open the door for the pettiness. As posters on here have no input whatsoever into the drafting process, and the whole personnel has changed at the Club, I don't think there are any lessons to be learnt by anyone by raking over the coals one more time
  12. Actually I was intrigued by Georgiou so I had a chat to him at Family Day His attitude comes from being a highly educated guy who was on the fast track to success as an engineer with an international company, who also played a bit of footy He knows this is just footy and if it doesn't work, he can go back to being an engineer without a problem, playing with that mental freedom, hence why he looks so relaxed on the field.
  13. It's not outrage, it's like Jumob says, tiresome, and it is always the same posters launching You have it in one, attitude, bit like Weetra and Maric before him, talked the talk but didn't walk the walk
  14. I didn't realise that posters on here were involved in drafting players to MFC, my mistake, so we must learn from the past, how to continually bash anybody named Schwab, Neeld, Prendergast, it's tiresome...if you need this type of thing in your life I'd have a look in the mirror...try discussing why Taggert was delisted, I know some of the reasons, and it had nothing to do with the coach or the recruiters choice
  15. Why?....it's in the past...what does it achieve apart from the usual hair shirt wearers and Neeld bashers filling a thread with vitriol....what is the point?......if you want to discuss Taggert go and watch Sturt this season....not interested in any player who doesn't play for MFC ....again I can post what I like, same as you let everybody else, same if you don't like it...dont't read it
  16. Hairshirt thread....some posters do really need to get out from behind the keyboard now and again....move on nothing to see here....practice game against Hawthorn coming up
  17. I agree, the last thing I want to see is JKH thrown in too early and getting smashed around and his confidence is shot to bits The good thing about Byrnes, is it doesn't matter if he has 2 premierships under his belt, he has to play consistently well to hold his place, hence the improved performance last Friday, which he will have to repeat this week, we have alternatives now, Blease, Toumpas, JKH, Evans, Kent.....Roos will pick who is in form and who he thinks will perform the role he has in mind for the game
  18. CFH, ignore the staying in the CBD , been three times, stay at SkyCity, it is a twenty minutes stroll into the city centre, it has a casino, a decent bar and two or three restaurants, the bus to the game stops right outside, it is next door to Mindl markets, you can actually stay a week and find plenty to do, there is a really good information centre near Parliament House, you can book everything there.... .would recommend any of the day or two trips to Kakadu, Lichfield, Katherine Gorge.....the War Museum.....an evening trip 65km out of Darwin to see the turtles etc etc .if you are into fishing, would recommend one of the trips.... .we booked through Qantas which covers the hotel and flights.....they could do with the money...... .ignore the Club travel agent, very overpriced..... ..there is nothing wrong with the Club organised functions.....a bit pricey, but isn't everything
  19. D28 As you can see from the Roos mic'd up, he keeps things faily simple. The general vibe after the Richmond game from all the players, was that what he was showing them worked, they understand that he will give them a role and as long as they give their everything and play the role exactly as described by Roos they will continue to play in the team They all know it is still pre season, and there is still a lot of work to do, but they know for a fact they are heading in the right direction....... players like Spencer, Bail, Watts, Trengove are all playing with a new confidence, led by Cross (the steadying influence), Grimes (leadership), Vince (a class act) and Nathan Jones (leading by example) An example of the coaching, Spencer was mortified by that silly kick in error that gave the ball straight to Vickery, but the coaching was a. relax and if in doubt belt it down the wing, or b. there should have been somebody on your shoulder to take the ball away, you had done the hard work to take a good defensive mark Watts and Tyson, again from mic'd up, have been told to use their natural ability, don't doubt yourself I am looking forward to watching Jack Watts tonight in a 'real' game, I think we will finally see what we and him have been waitng 5 years for
  20. If you speak to Jack, he is apart from being really happy at the thought of playing in the midfield, he is feeling as fit as he as ever been, after the practice game I told him he didn't look that tired, said he felt like he could run all day and most "importantly" he so much wants to finally sitck it up all the detractors Roos also has at his disposal Cross who wants to prove the Bulldogs wrong Vince who wants to prove the Crows wrong Tyson who wants to show why he was a number 3 pick and Trengove who wants to shut up all the detractors Competition for all spots A nice simple game plan Amd every players buying into it Roos will be relishing the next two weeks, against 2 teams who don't believe they are practice games, it will give him a clearer picture of who will be ready and deserves to be in the team Round 1
  21. Two things, how do you know Liam's "mates" are gone, do you mean the other indigenous players, he was actually very close to Jack Watts And "By the way who was the moron that forgot to book Roos a seat on the plane?" Sort of shows your character wouldn't you think, you don't know the full story on either to make such statements
  22. I am at work, I am oldish......... but I know who Beyonce is..............had to sit at my desk till the 'thought' went away.........
  23. I know but you carried it on, can't wait for the season to start and then there will be something in the present to whinge about
  24. The Footy Dept at the West Coast Eagles would probably think you are, we really can't let go of the past on this site can we
  25. I agree, but the hairshirt wearers need to remind themselves why they are so happy to have Roos as coach, instead of just enjoying it .......a coach in the middle of the ground during a practice match barking out instructions and praise....gee never seen that before.......
