  1. They both explained it to me, part of it is the 'relaxing', Roh Bail was worried about it the second he picked up the ball to go back and prepare, basically Watts has told him to just do the routine like Watts does, he counts the steps backwards, relaxes his shoulders and drops his arms and takes a long slow breath, sights the goal, starts slowly and then tries to just make it one smooth flowing action coming in.......the main point is not to worry about anything just concentrate on following the simple routine...seemed to work for both of them on Saturday, if you watch you will see the similarity.......watch Dunn if you want to see something completely different
  2. I told him that, still think he needs convincing on how good he is On that note, at the end of the training, Vince, Tyson and Nate Jones had a goal kicking comp for lunch This is in the left pocket next to the fence so about 30 metres and a 15 degree angle, Tyson put all three of his shots through for a goal post high with his left foot...much to the other two's disgust, Jones got 2 out of 3 and Vince missed all three
  3. He did the kick because of instinct, that's the way he has played all his junior days He got the spray because he did the instinctive kick when Dawes was free and he should have done the team thing Still allowed to do the instinctive things but will wear the consequenes if it goes wrong Dawes wants him at his feet front and centre
  4. I spoke to him at training this morning, it is like speaking to a 10 year veteran, leadership group material in the future I got an explanation on why he did the round the corner kick for the goal on Saturday Why he deserved the spray from Chris Dawes And how the 'new' forward line is working on getting a better understanding between thenm
  5. OD, Nev would disagree, was halfback as junior, his preferred position
  6. Nev has done all three, halfback, midfield and forward, what i put a week or so ago, was rookied to see what he could do if he manages a full pre seaon and doesn't get cruelled by injury, starting to see the results...........told me he is just gonna play the best he can, that's all he can do
  7. The main group was everybody except who RGRS said, the split will be on Friday when the team is known. Terelich said he is fine, he didn't seem troubled, just did a light session I asked were Spence was, and got non-commital (which could mean something private/personal) Nev Jetta said he hasn't heard anything about being elevated
  8. Stood watching the training with RGRS (who needs to harden up - cold?) As per the norm had a chat with a few Watts - he crouched down to have his photo taken with a young kid after he had finished training, that would have tested the hammy!...told me he just had a mild corkie Tyson - was actually shocked to see Carazzo come to him on Saturday, was told by coaches to just keep playing the way he has been told to, was pleased with his defenisve efforts Bail - said he was still working on his set shots was pleased to see the 'Watts' method work on Saturday JKH - said him and Dawesy had kissed and made up after Dawes' spray just before he kicked the goal, working on getting the understanding around the 'new' forward line Jetta - put his form down to being injury free and enjoying his footy down at Casey Terlich - for all the team pickers, reckons he is sweet for Sunday Trengove - most of what he said in his presser on the Club website, you can tell it is a mixture of relief and disappointment, relief because he had begun to doubt himself and of course disappointment for being out so long Viney - looking forward to Sunday, just wants 22 having a crack again "it's a simple game" Evans - complimented him on his all action sub appearance, said it was required if he wants to stay in the team Kent - absolutely no injury worries and is feeling the fittest he has been Chip asked me what I thought of him as a forward, I gave the right answer Georgiou - this bloke is so refreshing to talk to, asked him about his footy background a bit more, this is paraphrasing "never really thought of footy as a career, just progressed through the juniors at Norwood whilst at school and uni, then cracked a spot in the senior side and it sort of went from there,, only looked at maybe footy as a career in September last year" "doesn't think who he is matched up on, just another body" I think that is about it Somebody actually wanted to talk about walk whilst I was typing, cheek.
  9. Gee I thought a win may change the board for a week, but no another 3 pages of hindsight recruiting, I am surprised that some posters on here are not employed as recruiters, maybe the are, but i think not Every club has disasters at recruiting, when the team is winning nobody cares, it is only when they are losing.....hence some of the headlines re Carlton this week We still have 45 players on the list, and one confirmed delisting at the end of the year, same as every club, who knows out of that will be the hero and piece of inspired next week or the spud and the absolute disaster
  10. As you know I speak a lot to the players. I asked Jordie about his discussions with Roosy, basically Jordie was told if all he could do was tag he wouldn't get a game, "it leaves the team a man down", he was told he needed to become a link man, hence the goal assists at the weekend, and to improve his kicking and not be handball happy, only bit he hasn't quite got yet, is he needs to score goals, all the midfielders have been told that
  11. Story was leg break was so bad, wasn't expected to be seen till July at earliest, Crows thought delist and rookie, allow recovery with no rush, if leg break doesn't affect him mentally going forward look at relisting him next year......instead we stepped in, he is back in April, and Pigdog is back doing what he does best, for all the naysayers, ask Bernie Vince and Alex Georgiou for their opinion on whether he can cut it at AFL level, I did, both looking forward to playing alongside him......with Viney, Riley, McKenzie, Cross in the same side.......Roos must be looking forward to that...grunt
  12. So as not to upset Gonzo(id), just the facts, the latest from Nineteen, was also good to hear from PJ again last night, wants more than 35000 "Amazing what 4 points can do Got us right on track with John, Sarah, Pete, Catherine, Cheryl, Trish, Perrin & Geoff producing 38 sign ups. …. We’re back! We are in full swing tonight (Tues) & then back again on post Easter Tuesday. Great if some of the Monday crew switch to the Tuesday for this week!!"
  13. He's played four games so yes he is, I am not one for pumping up the players, but I reckon he will keep his spot unless Roos decides he needs a rest, for one reason to begin with, he does exactly what his role is
  14. Do you drink whilst you watch the footy?, you would not have a Key Defender as a sub, even if he can go forward as he has in the past, Salem will be at Casey until at least mid year Why replace Evans?, and Terlich is not out yet, he walked off after the game without a limp, gone are the days we keep injured players on the field, Roos wants 100% And as for your comments on JKH....nobody agrees with you on Demonland
  15. You said Cox or Mumford, they were rookies, and they were developed, Mumford sulked after King was picked for finals so moved on Of the rucks in the competition, I would only say Cox, Natanui (if fit), Mumford would be considered top class ruckmen, Sandilands is 9 foot tall, Grundy is a freak, but teams are starting to figure him out, whether he can maintain, needs to be seen, hasn't had a real injury yet....most of the other ruckman provide a contest, that's all Roos wants and he got that from Spencer at the weekend
  16. Nev is playing this well because he finally had a complete pre season under his belt, without one injury set back and he has a clear role within Casey, and obviously enjoying his footy, he was kept on the list as a reward for his last six games at Casey last year and to see what he could do with a fresh start (Jade Rawling;s words not mine)
  17. So what you are saying is rookie a ruckman and let him develop, similar to what we have done with Spencer and we are doing with King?
  18. For any poster who wants Blease in, read Brad Miller's assessment from last week, yes he is an excitement machine, but until he runs both ways, we won't see him
  19. Getting absolutely hammered by Mumford was probably the turning point Jake needed, do you really think both Roos and Stafford didn't tell him that that is how they want him to be, exactly like Mumford
  20. My bloody quote won't work again, but agree with Jumbo R, Roos dropped Trengove and Toumpas to make a statement, Watts is still there, so Roos must like his 'softness'
  21. I admire you so much I was just following your example, but could add tiresome
  22. Spencer has been rucking manfully, one week he has Cox and NikNat, then Mumford (who Roos reckons is a top ruckman) in the wet, give the bloke a break Roos thinks Bail is an improver, so all you haters will just have to hate I am going along thinking we have a 50/50 chance
  23. aaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! what next, christ I hope we get a win soon, as you know I speak to the players a lot, not one of them has ever mentioned that the 700 metre separation of the departments has ever impacted on them psychologically......7 different coaches, 7 different coaching styles and game plans, and defeat after defeat...maybe
  24. The problem is that some posters on here, will only ever accept that they are RIGHT, about everything, and will denigrate anybody that doesn't agree with them, so it is not a 'healthy' debate, my point in all this is that it is only footy, nobody dies
