  1. Have you ever thought that Dawes being the intelligent bloke he is, let it be known he wasn't interesed in being in a leadership position until he got himself right and could lead? You need to have talked to both Frawley and Clark to know why, Frawely always gives out the impression 'big country kid', underneath that is one decent human being and natural leader, Clark had charisma and body language that made you want to follow
  2. I asked him that, he wasn't sure, he said there was another small forward for the Dogs, neither of us could remember the name, can't be bothered looking it up, said it didn't really matter who it was anyway, if that was his role that's what he would try to do, Roos' message seems to be really sinking in, play your role as instructed and team first
  3. Riley was with the Casey group and did even less than the rest of them, may have an issue Asked Dave Misson about Watts, said he will be fine, which could mean he will play or be out for 6 weeks Asked Nev Jetta about Roos' words, just reinforcing messages from the weekend, asked him what general message was "just do the role assigned to you and not try too much" Nev was very modest about his shut down job on Betts, said without the midfield doing their job his would have been harder Complimented Jack Grimes on the great spoil, got exactly the same message "just doing my role for the team" And Cam Pedersen, praised his efforts in last couple of weeks "just doing my role, will play anywhere if it gets a game" And Roh Bail, complimenting him on his improved set shots for goal "need to impact the scoreboard in my role Nathan Jones was fine, running around doing laps with a big angry bear, no on second thoughts that was probably Chris Dawes Spoke to a couple of the young guns JKH, asked him how he was travelling, told me he is loving his footy, not even feeling fatigued at this stage, hoping to nail down the wing spot Dom Tyson, told him Footy Classified had compared his stats to Judd etc, was impressed, asked if he knew Liam Picken really well because after Saturday probably would, told me he planned to go to Mathew Boyd Walked back with Jack Viney, everybody who passed, Storm officials, media, staff from physio, all wished him luck tonight, he is hopeful.
  4. Oh right, so he's making sure the players doesn't play on and doesn't hear the call from JKH above the 40000 baying in the crowd, do you actually watch to enjoy the footy...or never made a mistake in your life.......
  5. Full pre season, specific role, confidence...easy really
  6. Here is the go on haflbacks setting up play out of the back half, listen to Roos we get the basics right first the rest will follow, you do need somebody to kick it to as well, yesterday we had that, hopefully we will continue to get it
  7. My quote won't work again..so Adam Farr ...give it a rest on Terlich, it is becoming as tiresome as your Grimes rant, which bit of not many agree with you don't you get, I don't care if there is the occasional mistake as long as the effort is there...same as Roos
  8. Frawley - hampered early with injury, but gutsed it out and kept one of Crows best defenders busy
  9. Do we have to start the negatives? Every supporter knows where we are at, but we can celebrate a win, all I care about tonight was we didn't wilt, we got in front and stayed there, it's a great start...and the players know for it to happen again they just have to reproduce
  10. I have proudly worn 39 on my jumper for last 5 years, hoping Nev would get a good pre season and a settled place in the side and shut up the doubters, mouths slowly closing....
  11. It's not poor skills or decisions, he just tends not to kick, when he just kick he usually hits a target, following the Bail myth as well..sigh..check out his disposal % eff.....and Georgiou does what?...gee sweeping statements without backup are tiresome
  12. My how things have changed, from Sando's presser on Crows' Twitter "We're expecting a hard grind, defensive game tomorrow." and of course "We all hope Bernie plays well, just not this week."
  13. I did, OD doesn't think much of many players, but Jordie will be ok, he has gone back to Casey to work on his shortcomings, the gist of original conversation was he tended to just negate and handball, he needs to learn to spread and kick, obviously Roos didn't like what he did when he played and back he goes, I have faith now that if he doesn't change then he won't be at the Club, another player whose development died in the last few years, but at least they are being developed again now Allison's comments on last weekend show he still has some work to do Jordie McKenzie: Jordie played on ball. He had 29 disposals and played a solid game. He worked hard in the midfield and gave the side some drive. Jordie just needs to keep working on his disposal by foot to make sure that we’re getting full value from his possessions
  14. Sorry OD, Brett Allison doesn't agree with you Maia Westrupp: Maia played as a defender. He had 12 possessions and it was his most promising game this season. He had a particularly strong second quarter, where he won six possessions and used the ball very well. We’re looking forward to seeing more of that in the weeks to come from Westy. He is a speculative, sitting outside of the main list, from what I could glean from the coaches, there is something to work with, this is regarded as his first year Not sure what is going on with Barry, had a couple of soft tissue so may be impacting, seems to have stalled at the moment
  15. Had the opportunity to chat to Tappy a couple of weeks ago, he knows where he stands as well, that is why he was so [censored] off, got through the pre season unscathed and thought it had finally turned, then one soft tissue after another. I have a feeling (if you read between the lines with what Allison wrote) that they are losing patience with Blease which is very disappointing, hopefully the light may finally go on, he reminds me of Maric (another gifted junior), when it switches on its shines brightly but goes out just as quickly, and we know what happened to Maric Strauss I feel the coaches see something in, but needs to just get a free run at it, which he has never had, you never know if he shows enough they may take the Jetta route Nicho is a hard one, think he is basically in compettion with Bail as that hard running defensive forward/wing, again he needs to get into the AFL Team and stay there. Evans I think they see as yet another young midfielder who has chance to develop, not 22 till July, will probably have a look at season end whether there has been any development
  16. Totally agree, if Strauss, Tapscott and Blease don't get it together and stay injury free and force their way into AFL Team before seasons end reckon all 3 are gone
  17. Just to keep you informed, another 62 sign ups over last two nights, total slowly creeping back to 35000, renewed optimism to the fore
  18. I would give you maybe Swallow, Patton has Cameron stood next to him, so if he can't take on at the minimum the 2nd best defender and kick a couple with his size then?, Scully is average, Kreuzer? Gibbs, in and out of form worse like Watts, goes missing in games....so no the nr 1 draft picks are not exactly setting the footy world on fire
  19. Sir, sir, sir, me me.......Goddard, Hawkins, Gibbs the list is endless
  20. Thank you, I needed a laugh before I left work
  21. No, there are certain 'noisy' posters on here who bang on and on and on and on, till most believe what they are saying is true, it's and old effective way of communication, facts never come into their thinking, they decide Player A is a liability, and until they get everybody in agreement they continue to bang on and on For Terlich being replaced, there is a question mark over Clisby defensive efforts if you read the comments from the previous two Casey games and Strauss played on a wing this weekend, yes Terlich makes mistakes but he is still young "AFL experience wise", doesn't matter what your age is, same with Pedersen, there is upside in both of them, they have the endeavour and workrate, the more games they play, the confidence will rise and with that the decision making As for Watts, I am as horrified as anybody with his insipid effort on Saturday, but he is not the first and certainly won't be the last high draft pick who has taken a while to actually show at senior level what they showed as a junior, I would cite Brendon Goddard as the perfect example, try reading any St Kilda board for comments on him in his first five or six years, you will find echoes I think after the Trengove and Toumpas example, you will probably find both Howe and Watts at Casey this week
  22. I was going to say the same thing, never thought of that, next time one sneaks away, may try and get a chat then, that should go down weill Chrisitan Salem and myself both find it rather ironic that after Man Utd were beaten by Everton, then the owners decided to sack Moyes, also talked about Arsenal's and Everton's games this weekend, good to see the young bloke has his priorities right...........pumped for some other reason as well
  23. This is me, I was at training, would not be surprised at all if Salem debuts, had a chat to him afterwards about the Premier League and other things haha All I could get about Spencer from anybody was he was inside training, would be surprised if he is hamed Spoke to a couple of the 'wounded' Kent is still a week away, Michie 2 weeks (has a plate in his jaw, and lost a wisdom tooth Riley is now on unrestricted game time, would not like to be playing against him this week, wants to get his name in the frame for the Adelaide game, asked him if he really lkes hurting opponents legally, you can guess the answer Nev Jetta's feedback was he had played the role he was instructed to play Bumped into Jesse Hogan on Swan St before training, getting frustrated, can't seem to shake it off when ramping up the training, Club is looking at all avenues to find the exact problem, told him to keep his chin up and he gave me a thumbs up For all the Watts fans out there, he did extra tackling drills and got knocked around quite a bit Luke Tapscott is finally ready to play, had a laugh about how normally he can't get through pre season, was overjoyed when he did nearly the whole of it and thinks he jinxed himself, thinks he might carry a lucky stone in his sock. And if he is picked for all the other haters it will be Roh Bail's 50th game
  24. We have already passed last years membership total, aiming for 35000 Roos wants to develop from within, which bit of him repeatedly saying that don't people get, Cross and Vince will probably be it (would only assume we would make a play for a 'superstar'), I reckon we will be looking more for another Riley or Michie or Georgiou
