Are you wilfully ignorant to the mass Islamic terrorism that is going on around the world right now, or are you simply indifferent to the people they are murdering on a daily basis?
-
That's the most ignorant thing I have seen written anywhere, ever, about any topic. Islam relies on views like that, to spread it's tentacles throughout the world.

Hope this isn't one of those threads that we look back on, embarrassed after collapsing in a heap in the second half of the season.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
faultydet replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
Blinkers. Joe Daniher or Sam Weidemann? Right now, its Danners by the length of the Flemington straight, and I'm a fan of Weids. Sorry, realised I'm posting on a Melksham thread. I think Goody has found his niche. He can be a stopper who also finds his own ball, and makes his opponent accountable defensively with his natural attacking instincts. Lets hope his very recent form continues. btw, have a look at the team song from the Eagles game. I think it's fair to say Jake is heavily invested in the club now. He was screaming the words louder than I was. -
Agree SWYL I've been of the opinion for a while, that Weids is a player who, like Gawn, will look so/so until he has the proverbial breakout game and realises how good he can be. He has already displayed very pleasing defensive skills for a tall forward. I would go as far as saying he has displayed more defensive nouse than Hogan. If Pedo could pass on his mitts to Sam upon retirement, we would have quite a player on our hands.
-
Look at his neck. The compressed lines appear as the elbow hits. Its very obvious if you look at his neck at the right time. Low impact for sure, but I've seen boxers knocked out cold, from what appeared to be a nothing blow. A one week penalty at most would be a fair outcome.
-
On a flat deck, with little chance of physical harm, he actually looked quite good. On a deck with some life, or against a physically attacking bowler, he could be relied upon to go to water fairly quickly.

Whats wrong with Pedders?
-
Wow, consider how maligned he was in his early years, and that is an amazing achievement. But Oliver will beat that before he has played 200
-
Shaking my head in disbelief that anyone would take the trouble to type this sentence. His "draft camp 20 metre time"? The one he did in 2009? Christ almighty.
-
To be honest mate, almost anyone on the list except Trenners. Gawn in, Pedders to play Watts role in rotation with T-Mac Wouldnt be surprised to see K-Harris, even though I'm not a fan. Maybe someone can give us some info on Maynard? can he run? Would certainly lose nothing in the hardness department with N. Jones Or possibly Stretch to run run run, in the wide open spaces?
-
His form might be solid, but he is soooooo slooooow Its not the ground to play him on. His strength is his marking, which I think means he is more a replacement for an injured Petracca etc, across half forward. As a mid, he will be a massive liability defensively, as he cannot catch anyone once the ball is turned over.

I was hoping we were over this sort of stuff. We are now playing for our first finals spot in over a decade, and people want to play possibly the slowest midfielder to play the game in the past 30 years, on the most open ground in the country, because "he bloody deserves it"? Love the bloke for what he has been through, but I'm over sentiment when it comes to watching the Red & Blue in September. No, just No

am I the only one that noticed he needs a box of panadol, and he didnt even FINISH the bottle after drinking till the morning? And then spewed? Lightweight!

Pies fans want out of QB Big freeze match
faultydet replied to pineapple dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not sure why they would be looking for a way out of "their grand final", but ok, if you dont want the big stage, in front of a big crowd, fine, suit yourself. We could give your charity game away to a more deserving side anyway, such as an emerging Brisbane. Showcase their great young talent, over an aging, overrated mob like Colonwood. And take your soon to be sacked, hopeless loser coach with you. -
Yeah, he almost certainly would have had a glance, but it doesnt help my story, so I'm ignoring the possibility. Christ I've watched the replay a lot. We need to pay homage to Hibberd. If not for his desperate spoil, Colonwood may have had a shot on goal. Match winning defence. What a great pickup he has been.
-
Had Jones and Bugg both wide open, in front of goal, but never looked sideways. I knew he thought it was his moment. Its what the great players do. Would love to see him do it in a final.
-
My favourite moment of his career.

What radio station has the best commentary team?
faultydet replied to Redbeard's topic in Melbourne Demons
Its the only time the ABC can be unbiased about anything. Give me Tim Lane anywhere, any day. -
My favorite moment of the year. Watts last goal, arms open, half arrogant look on his face. Magic.

I agree. I turned the game off 504 at half time, and attended to other things, as I still dont have the confidence that we will fight back. There will come a game when the players finally twig to the fact that we are a serious team, and from then on, we will see good times/huge wins like we did in the late 80's I attended the first 2 finals V Nth, and Sydney, and we annihilated both, in front of massive crowds. This team has more natural talent, but not the mental strength. Yet......
-
You read me wrong. I am very happy with the result. My comments are regarding the 3 word analysis. Hard to be glowing about the entire side, when we won by 4 points.

Second biggest leap on the ground after Howe. Can see why he plays forward.
