I love the romanticism of father son and can accept the luck of the draw from it. What I don't agree with is double dipping like Brisbane getting FS and a shot at top academy prospects. The academy's need to go and development of all talent needs to be a natural duty of the clubs.

There are 4 field umpires now, so the voting must be done by consensus, which in itself is already a committee. Umpires concentrating on the game can often be influenced by last quarter performances as they are freshest in mind. Why not make the emergency umpire in charge of giving the votes?

Get him back as a mature age recruit!

I am surprised that both Collingwood and Carlton missed the finals and bombed the end of their seasons, but both Cripps and the second place chap polled so well through those rounds.
