Season 2024 Over for Clayton Oliver
Left Foot Snap replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have always been surprised he has not kicked more goals. He certainly has all the ability to. -
The Brisbane facility at Springfield is miles out of the city and from the Gabba. It's the Brisbane equivalent of us being at Casey.

Interesting to see all the Hawks supporters in witches hats for 'the Wizard' Watson. Would have been pretty apt last night for the Port supporters!

I'm going to miss Sheriff the most of all the departures. -
Etiquette would suggest that if you are going to pull the [censored] about him, you spell his name right.

Not quite what I was expecting when I opened this thread. -

I also wanted to say well done to Daisy. -
Odds on there is a bigger underlying story that they (media) are sweating on. Piling the pressure on to attempt to break something and someone to reveal something that will allow them to pursue the bigger story. This year is bordering on a campaign and the media wouldn't do that unless they smelt blood and bigger profits in the future.

Windsor was top 3 for best first year player. Rising star award is loosing it's way imo. Can't have players with 3 preseasons in contention with first year players.

Just saw an article on 7 News in Brisbane about Neal Daniher's Fight MND charity organising and hosting a world first conference for the world's leading MND specialists to come up with coordinated programs to research and fight the disease. Was held at Junction Oval and Neal, Bec and their team seemed to be in attendance. Well done again Neal and family, and I could not have needed a good news story around the club more than at the moment.

15th here we come!

A little surprised by this one. Thought we might have invested some more years with the rookie list changes. I guess sometimes raw isn't just raw. Must have someone else in mind for the spot. Be interested to follow who. Good luck KFW.
-
He would probably have also wondered why he wasn't getting a game like the rest of us. Then he did, and unfortunately we all then knew. ☹️

Sticking a tackle might help!
-
I thought that was the Thompson pick.
-
Good luck to everyone today. Here's hoping for a good showing and a win. If not, next season isn't too far away already and I will happily say goodbye to a lot of what this season has brought.
-
Was surprised JVR didn't get a nod as a promising young KPF, but then you take a look at who is there! That is a fair chunk of tall young talent in that forward line. Oh how I would love Darcy on our list!

I agree with Gary. Thought it was a mighty shank, then after the swearing subsided, watched it bend its way through. Lovely goal!!

Club in crisis - Media pile on - August 2024
Left Foot Snap replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Never heard of that book or series, sounds interesting. -
I don't really agree with this. I love Max and think his original intentions were good, but he couldn't play forward as hoped and Grundy couldn't at all. I think it was Max that was the reason the experiment didn't work and he wanted to be back to being number one. There may be other issues too that have been hinted at on here, but I don't know what they are. We knew what we were getting with Grundy if he regained fitness, but we thought we had a forward winner in Max. If it worked that way (and if the proposed change to 5 interchange came in) we would gave been on to a winner.

Premiership Hero Ben Brown Retires
Left Foot Snap replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
As much as I think a premiership player of his character would be more than deserving, despite his 6 goals he looked like he was running in treacle around the ground. Tried hard, but can't run well enough for a game at the G in the environment we will have Friday night. All the best Ben!!
